Been brewing for quite a while now IMO. Overload of humiliating players (particularly the younger ones) with screaming and spittel in front of teammates and fans in the huddles. I did wonder from day one how long that could last.
Mark Stone is highly credentialled to take over. Vast experiencce at AFL & SANFL level.

geez I remember Browny taking the Perth reserves side off mid-game because the umpires were shite
then grabbing a reporter's microphone , ripping it to shite and subsequently telling him where it was going to be lodged if he didn't get the fark out of his face

good on him for destroying the whiteboard too farken things are loaded with unfathomable modern dribble anyways

One of the posts of the season.

I'll never forget that day when Browny marched out, ordered the reserves off, lifted Peter Murnane off the ground with a single handed strangle, then ripped the mic off the chord from the Channel Wrinkles reporter and dumped it in the red and black painted bin next to the players race.

And you are right about the whiteboard.

But as Ted said earlier, doesn't work anymore.

We need to be grateful to Peter German. As DD says, he did raise standards. He knew what success looks like and he tried to make the change. Maybe struggled ultimately on the communication bit but raised the bar on a club that has lost touch with what competitive standards look like.
malcolm had incredible strength and an explosive temper when it blew and you can ask several different Victorians how hard those fists were
Mark Jackson would be one to ask as well (even though Rioli was the one who nailed him to the boxing ring wall in front of Laurie Flanders)
I've seen footage of two games-
one for East Perth in Adelaide where he ran amok against Carlton and would have belted the whole side if he could have
and another one for Richmond in 1974 where it was almost the same he just went berserk and threw some of the biggest punches you've ever seen
and Murnane had no teeth for very good reason

great era
we had three cold hard tough hombres in Brownie , Basil Campbell (who Malcolm named his son after) & Maurice at one glorious time and it was farken fabulous to watch and be part of too

Heard Adrian on WAFL world tonight,
Wants to wrap it up before the end of the season (6 weeks).
They quizzed him about an immediate offer to Mark Stone, (suggesting we should grab him), Adrian sounded reluctant.
Now that Curley has gone from SF, I think he needs to just throw the cheque book at him.
If he is the right person.
Boys, suggesting SF would be a better option for him.
Who else is around?
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!

Mark Stone coached Glenelg to the 2019 SANFL premiership, so you'd think that the Demons would have to seriously consider him if he wanted the job in 2025 and beyond, Smokey.
Given the resignations of their respective coaches during the week, it's ironic that Perth will be playing South Fremantle this weekend.

Love Army but I don't think he a strong enough character to be a senior coach in the WAFL. Did take charge for one game a few years ago when Moss got Covid and we got slaughtered by East Perth. Appointing Mark Stone is a no brainer and I couldn't stomach losing him to South Fremantle. That would just further emphasize what's wrong with the WAFL and take Perth and the competition another step backwards.
Get on your bike.

Let’s not forget too, when he saw our gym he was horrified and said that’s not good enough which subsequently prompted the club to get off it’s arse and gut it, put in new flooring and paint and order a skip bin to throw out the rubbish equipment and buy new stuff. That’s a very poor reflection on those that are running the joint before German was appointed. So thanks Germo.

Same thing happened with the change rooms, ripped up carpet stuck to the floor with Gatorade and was dark and dingy. After new white paint and carpet the players were told no more Gatorade showers after a win. Not that that happens too often.
You might of had a bad gym , crap equipment and change rooms from Bombay, and no success for decades - but at least you had money in the bank, because that the most important thing for a footy club right, to be thrifty tightwads.

in the next 6 weeks:
Perth to win the final two games.
Sign Stone or Moore.
Commence new stand and club rooms.
Sign a 200cm CHB
Sign gun inside mid to replace Charlie Thompson.

Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

We may have a small chance against SF. Wet weather is forecast, so that might mean we can't afford to bring in both Q and Edwards. Surely Cachard comes back? I wonder if he is being managed or is out of favour for reasons that aren't apparent? The last thing we want is players leaving at season's end because they feel they are not getting picked when they should, and Cachard would have a fair case that he is in that category.

We are likely to be in a position, as so often, where any recruiting we do is likely to simply replace who we have lost. As mentioned, CT and Chaplin are leaving, and likely Manzone, Stubbs and Cary. Plus we have already lost Cooley. Sing and Poole may be forced out with concussion. I don't agree that we need a CHB. With Johnston, Scoble, Avery and Schlensog, we have enough tall backs. We need a good small forward, a tall/medium to complement Clarke, and at least 3 top quality mids. At least one mid has to be in the mould of Crowden, someone who can push forward and hit the scoreboard regularly. The problem is that we don't have those players from within - if Watson, Cachard, Moore, etc get to that level, it will take until 2027 for them to be playing well consistently - and we can't recruit enough good players in a single off season to cover our deficiencies. Anyway, I look forward to our new coach announcing another 3 year/5 year plan.

On face value, why would you choose Perth over SF??? Only one thing can persuade Stone and Perth are in a position to back the truck up. Isn't your Colts coach rated highly? Why not have a crack at Horsley?
