Not sure if anyone reads the local rag but there was an article in it about the redevelopment of Lathlain.

Sounds good.

Hope We Perth supporters get along to watch some of the games.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

Not sure how accurate this but there was a whisper that part of the process saw some loss of control for the Club over the facilities and this was or is a bit of a sticking point.

It would be great for your club and the surrounds to have facilities that encouraged more activity in the ara and thus more folks at the ground, good luck and I hope the 'traditionlists' don't cause a stall in the process.

I know this subject has been discussed in length already but for those who missed this last week!!!

Brownes Stadium at Lathlain Park has emerged as a clear frontrunner as the favoured site for West Coast's next elite training facility.

_The West Australian _understands the Eagles and Town of Victoria Park are working towards a heads of agreement that would set a framework for the conditions under which the Eagles would move to the ground, home to the Perth Football Club.

It is expected that a final decision on the site for the Eagles facility will be made by the end of August.

It is likely the Eagles could then be in their new premises by 2017, a year before the new stadium at Burswood is completed and a year after Fremantle are scheduled to move to their new facility at Cockburn. Perth are expected to be accommodated as part of any redevelopment of the ground.

West Coast's requirements will almost certainly include two training ovals - with the second on the eastern side.

The Demons would also be likely to acquire new premises as part of the redevelopment, which would also be expected to contain community facilities.

Eagles chairman Alan Crans-berg stressed no final decision had been made and that remaining at Subiaco Oval remained an option.

Sites at Curtin University and the University of Western Australia were other possibilities.

He said the club had to be sure that any location would satisfy its needs for the next 50 years.

But Brownes Stadium Park was "a very promising option".

"There is a lot of work to do for us to finalise things (on a new training facility)," Cransberg said. "Until we get down to the detail it is way too early to predict where we may be.

"We have presented options to the board but we haven't yet gone back to the board and said this is something other parties are ready to sign off on."

Victoria Park mayor Trevor Vaughan confirmed his council was negotiating with the Eagles.

"We have been having discussions with West Coast and progressing with them," Vaughan said.

"But we have not made any decisions, West Coast haven't made any decisions.

"We have got a terms of agreement which we are discussing. It was our understanding that there were still other groups being considered. But we have had positive talks with West Coast and we are progressing it with them and the Perth Football Club."

Perth chief executive Marty Atkins said the Demons viewed the possibility of West Coast basing themselves at the oval as a positive provided his club was accommodated as part of the redevelopment.

"We have had talks with the West Coast Eagles and the Town of Victoria Park have been forthright in their view that we would stay here as well," he said.

"There is plenty of space here provided we are looked after."

Confirmed Today : Eagles to move to Lathlain Park by 2017. Leaving Subiaco Oval all together.

Surely now Perth will be the next aligned club, or EP to move in with them.

Perth and east perth to merge and be known as Perth Eagles, which will then become the new name of West Coast to better identify them with a major city, eg - Sydney Swans, Melbourne Demons, Adelaide Crows, Brisbane Lions.

Perth Eagles here we come!!
