Claremont will laugh at us if we give them a top dollar transfer fee for Langdon, like Subi did when we shelled out for Ainsworth. 10 points and big money for a 27 year old mid-sized, mid paced, medium possession player? Actually, it sounds exactly like the sort of player PFC is renowned for going after.

Dazz if the Rumble rumour is true then I think it may be an encouraging sign.
Because it will be a German appointment not a PFC appointment.
In other words German may have been given the licence to bring in what he needs.
Could we at last have seen the light?
As someone famous once said. "Build it and they will come".
Money that is.
You cannot build something without making an investment.
He has a lot to build but if he puts the infrastructure in place players may want to come.
At least we have someone credible that can sell the dream.

Gee we have had some dud recruits over the years but I think Ainsworth would have to take the cake.

Reckon with German on board, can see Perth getting some quality in pretty soon. Still think German's best work will be done within the club raising the work rate of all involved on and off the park. Once that happens and success comes, Perth will attract some quality personnel, very much like what Subi did from the early 2000's...and we all saw how successful that was.

Geez Freez, have to love your work here. Nail, head, hit, right out of the park.
Early days yet but the writing seems to be on the wall. Finally, a re-awakening for the club. It has only taken 45 years but perhaps yet only a tip of the iceberg as we speak.
"Baby" steps for now but we must not waste the opportunities that lie ahead.

Spoke to an EP league player this week. Some interesting points he made.

1. They are not starting training until December.
2. Probably have Mossy and Pickering as assistants.
3. German was mentor to their last coach Barnard. Barnards hard nosed approach is apparently way out of touch with the players of today.

Point 1 makes me  think that we wont hear much for a few weeks. Point 2 is interesting. Point 3 has me a little worried.

Over the years I have always got excited about our recruits - not many have worked out. Young, Bevan and Jones the exceptions. We always look so much smaller than other clubs. Hoping the new zone players can bring in some talent and stay around a little while. I imagine the best case scenario is instead of 9th, 9th and 9th we go to 6th, 6th and 6th.

Terrible but I would be happy with that.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

TFF, a hard-nosed approach by German at Subiaco, did not affect their players nor has it under subsequent coaches. The players have always bought into the programme and so it must be with any player who wants to pull on a DEMONS jumper.
Subi have been a Dynasty for 20 plus seasons. No reason for Perth not to be the same.

Just got to look at the work Monaghan has  done at both WP and EF. WP have a playing culture 2nd to none, always competitive regardless the off field distractions.....whilst EF appear to be on that road to success, took Monaghan a few years to clear the decks, but paying off now as the team buys into what Monaghan is trying to achieve. Yes it may rub a few players up the wrong way,  even out the door....but I guess that is life.

Perth have some good leaders in Byrne and Sinclair, EF have Jupp and Eardley who have ensured the players are on board in regards to expectations on n off the park....can see Sinclair and Byrne doing the same...

At least the club will find out whom wants to play league football. League football, after all, is supposed to be hard to play.

Aussie Rules football is, in my opinion, a simple game - run and get the ball, kick it or handball it to a team-mate, team-mate kicks a goal.
What is hard about it is how hard a player is prepared work for his team. It is not a game for the faint-hearted who is not prepared to take the hard knock and bleed for his team and the jumper he wears.
Looking at the teams in the WAFL, the flag is usually won by a team of players that takes full ownership and is backed off-field with the tools and support needed to be successful.
This is where PFC has been sadly lacking for far too long. Anyone not on board with the programme is welcome to look elsewhere.
All MHO of course.
