Geez German would need to see what happened to Watters when he coached elsewhere......Watters looked the goods at Subi, but at St Kilda he looked out of his depth......having good enough cattle will always play a big part in a coach's success. But good luck if Perth snare German, it may lead to a change in their injury fortunes, Moss definitely has been cursed injury wise since taking over role.

I think German is exactly the type of Coach we need.
But we need a cleanout at board level as well, the current lot wouldn't understand what I'm talking about.
Let alone have the balls to go out and get him at all costs.

Do you think that your board would be a bit reticent in hiring German?  Reading all your posts on the subject, i get the idea that they might be a bit nervous about a strong willed go getter like German.  Seems like they like being the boss and want to keep it that way.

A lot will depend on what the existing Board do, or not do, between now and the AGM in December. Decisions made before a new Board is constituted may not be in accord with the views of a new regime. And yet delayed decisions may be disastrous.
I am not sure that a strong willed go-getter like Peter German would have an adverse affect at the club. For far too long we have had this layback acceptance of mediocracy and a soft approach towards players. At this level of football, players should expect and accept the required level of discipline and general standards of behaviour on and off the field..
IMHO, if whatever is expected of them is not to their liking then they are not serious about taking the club forward and willing to give all for the jumper and bleed red and black. They should know where the door is if they wish to spit the dummy. 
Personally, I believe that a coach who is a task master like German should be given enough autonomy for him to get the job done. 
Having said all that, I doubt that someone like German would be interested in coming over to Perth just to take on a cot case like PFC. Why should there be any reticence if he did want the job??


 

What’s German ever done anywhere apart from Subi who had money and there was no points system then.
Been at a lot of clubs since then and never lasted too long.
Not sure if Perth’s issue is the coach

What is the issue then MO?
We are not saying it is only the coach.

MO, I am not suggesting that German would be my choice of a coach if, indeed, there will be a replacement.
However, if a vacancy did occur, I believe that Sumich may be the best fit for Perth of the names that have been suggested so far.

Smokey...German and Sumich are two different types of coach. If Perth has a reasonable list which for whatever reason is underperforming or not hitting the required standards then Germo is your boy. If your list has a lot of young talent which needs development and guidance then imo Sumich would be better. It depends on where your squad is at and you'd know that better than I would.
