Well going by Murray's reaction on Sunday and the fact he has turned up to play ressies it seems he wants to play and it means something to him. I am not sure you have handled it as well as you could have Marty. :)

Isn't it better to keep the kid playing ressies and work through these issues with him?

On that logic Johnno, Ben Cousins wanted to stay at the Eagles and so he should never have been cut by the Eagles. But at some point, behaviour of an individual starts to hurt the team and that individual has to go. Daniel was probably given too many chances, not too few.

He is also a 10 point player and so needed to deliver a lot of value in terms of performance and/or culture. He was detracting from the culture and hadn't yet delivered enough on the field because he still wasn't fit enough.

I'm not Marty but you can call Marty and I'm sure he would have a similar view. No one wanted Daniel Murray to succeed more than Marty Atkins.

I really hope Daniel Murray can find his way and succeed in life and footy.

Well let me tell you RnR, supporters want to see players with talent who can bring the club success on the field, not B graders who the club thinks they are better off with but are short on talent and not capable of bringing the club some on-field success.

I guess you have to know where to draw the line. Didn't Daniel prove himself in the pre season and shed a heap of weight? That shows some character. Most pundits do not believe Eyres is up to it and Leyendekkers needs to add some bulk. By the way Reimers doesn't look fit to me and his talent suggests he should be having a much bigger impact than he has shown. He looks like he has coasted through pre season and hasn't done a lot to improve his fitness.

Top marks to you,RnR,for great posts that provide a factual insight into what is happening in and around the club.
A refreshing change from certain scribes on here who are not interested in the facts, who do not contribute sensible and fact based comments, who can only offer continual negative and base less tripe and who do not wish to see any form of success for the PFC.

The experiment of Leon being allowed to miss so many sessions tore the club apart and we all saw the result last year. If we had have kept the same policies as in the past, we would be a rabble yet again and sitting 9th. This year it's culture first, talent second and that's consistently applied so everyone knows where they stand. If Daniel is allowed to miss many sessions without consequence, others will also think it's OK and it will be s spiral downwards.

We'd all love to have guys with the talent of Murray and Davis but it won't get us where we want to get. We are better off with recruits like Risol, Sketcher, Bevan, Bateman, Tedesco, Jacobs, Johnston, Kane, Leyendekkers .....even Reimers who has been really good for us. Add to that the home grown talent which has come up this year like Eyres, Boyle, Sinclair, Hug and we have a very professional and united squad. That's why we are succeeding because they play as a disciplined team, not as a bunch of individuals just notching up stats.

I think you might be getting ahead of yourself mate. The club had the easiest draw in the first 5 games, 4 out of the first 5 games at home with Peel and SF at home first up, got SD early who have had a stuttered start to the season, got EP when they were struggling. I admit there were some good performances even in losses to EF and CL but since then we've been found out with a heavy loss to WP while we were equal second with them and dropped a game to SD at home who were coming off a bad loss to Subiaco the week before at home and now EP at home AGAIN!!

The weeks ahead we play:
Peel(A)
SF(A)
SD(A)
Subi(H)
Peel(A)
EF(A)
WP(Mora)
EP(A)
CL(H)
SF(H)

Let's see how well you succeed over the next 10 weeks.

Roughnruthless wrote: Daniel Murray has been given many, many second, third, fourth......chances and the outburst which everyone heard on Saturday was the final straw. He is gone. The gamble on Daniel was reasonable given that he was not given any guarantees until he finished the pre-season and it seemed like he had matured and so he was put on the list. He cost the club nothing and I say good on the club for giving the young man another shot. Turns out Daniel is not quite ready for the discipline of WAFL (let alone AFL) but maybe some time in the future I hope.

Simon Donovan was ill on Sunday. He is very much still at the club and very well liked and respected by all. He's found it tough to break into a team with Bevan, Stack, Reimers, Boyle and occasionally Colledge competing with him for spots.

The club is doing better than any of us dared to imagine in 2013 both on and off the field. If they can bring their best footy over the next 5 weeks, they should be sitting on 10 and 5 and 2nd on the ladder. Only time will tell but the talent is there.

Go Demons!!!

You are full of it, more crap from within. Donovan found it tough to break into the squad, is that why he kicked 2 in the first game of the year, 3 in the next and then to be dropped to the 2s and kick another couple. Poor bloke more than likely scratching his head at what he has to do and lost confidence. Why we he dropped after his start to the year. I think Dovovan has a few credits in the bank.

With his history and being a 10 point player why was he given another shot at the Demons when you knew the club was having a cultural cleansing. Who gave the okay for Davis to train when he wanted last year?.

Why do you both whispers after the tigers outbursts. You would not know a fact if it was looking you in the face!!! That is a fact!!!

BTB get your facts together. That whisper that you refer to and indulge in repeating was, IN FACT, fact. A minimal amount of investigation and scrutiny would surely provide you with sufficient comfort as to it's integrity.

Another fairytale???
I have absolutely no recollection of saying such a thing. The only time I recall commenting on Damian McMahon was to say that I do have a personal view on his coaching but that I was not going to enter into public debate on the matter particularly with scribes who wish to "play the man" and denigrate him,the position of Senior Coach and the Club.
You seem to be the "super troll" on this forum. You find that quote and verify it was me and I will "fess" up. Now that is a little challenge for you.
Oh, and don't go editing or fabricating what I may have said.
