Murray and Donovan gone in the same week. This joint produces more figjams than a Moroccan cannery.

The game yesterday was lost in that crazy 15 minutes in the second quarter when they squandered countless easy shots on goal. They should have had EP on the canvas by then. Then the first 15 minutes of the third Cadwallader and Swan got off the least across half forward and it was catch up after that. They stopped running as hard as EP after half time.

Can't blame Eyres for playing on at that critical stage in the last. That was the coach's instructions at 3 quarter time - play on at every opportunity.

Dazzler the only figjam in the place is the coach who disguises himself as a good bloke. It can't be the fault of how many now that have been shown the door since the end of last season? Just make one crucial change and make the right appointment and watch the change. Might even draw a few back and maybe they won't be labelled figjams under another coach because maybe, just maybe they might enjoy playing under another coach? Adam Pickering is the man. He is right there under their noses.

As Peter North said "This match was won by EP because of their big men, why would you drop Leyendeckers knowing this was a big chance to happen"

How do you go into an important game with 1 ruckman knowing the oppostion have 2 recognised good ruckmen??
So we have a senior coach and all those supposedly you beaut assistants and thats the decision...1 ruckman??
Eyres is not a big possesion player so i could not see the thinking behind that decsion to have him do it on his own.
Over 4 quarters the East Perth big men were always at some stage going to get on top and work him over.

The coach's instructions might be to play on at all times but players have to be aware of whats happening around them before they decide to play on,thats a problem with a few of our players..they don't know how to read the play.

Donovan has gone as well? What gives? The bloke is hardly a FIGJAM.

Eyres was rewarded for a good tackle on Oakley-Nicholls. Ali Smith then picked up the footy and the whistle was called. Johnson half has is arm around Smith then looks at the umpire as he is giving a signal to indicate the free kick and then he proceeds to sling/drive Smith into the ground. Ususally you see them given 50 metres, especially is the incident occurs after the whistle has been blown. Still though not every decision can go your way unfortunately as was the case and sometimes you get free kicks in your favour that weren't really there. I suppose over the course of a season it balances out.

In regards to Eyres he had Lycett in his vision or at least should have. Where Eyres was on the ground he looked around as if to see if a runner was coming behind him for a handball. He wasn't and then he looked directly passed Lycett who would have been standing at about 2 o'clock compared to where Eyres was on the ground. This is poor peripheral vision for a league footballer. Should have just kicked it long into the forward line.

I know the coach said to play on at all costs at 3qt but sometimes you have to use your common sense.

That's my point. The 31 blokes that have left can't all be figjams but when the club uses terms like clean out and new culture it makes plenty that left of their own accord look like they were given the heave ho.

I find it hard to fathom how plenty of these blokes that were with McMahon through colts footy or have been at the club for yonks are suddenly not the type that fit the new club culture. If it was producing results I'd say great but the last month has been a disaster and I'm not sure this club can afford to be saying to proven league quality players no thanks anymore.

Very funny BTB. I am not sure if it was just coincidence but this song came out in 1977, the same year that Perth won their last flag.
