I knew about the school having no relevance - surprised the community club doesn't come into play - but I guess it makes since or otherwise ambitious parents would put all their kids into the Subi zone (Cause we know they train harder). FO what about if a kid lives in lathlain until 15 and then moves to Freo?

If you move zones you move districts eventually. But there is a lag, I think 18 months. So in your eg the kid stays with Perth til about 17 yo. Then goes to the new club. Some complications but basically tied to where you live. Club talent managers sometimes allow an early “release”, usually if it’s best for the kid

I am not sure what OOO was mentioning re private school kids from Trinity, Wesley and Aquinus coming to Perth. The good kids from these schools are snapped up early for there WAFL aligned club.

For example a kid that plays for Coolbinia (EP zone) who won the medal for best and fairest in the Central Comp in Local footy and that also plays 1st 18 for Trinity (Perth zone) doesn't get to play for Perth. He is picked up as a talent for EP early and basically Perth will only get the kids not good enough to be picked up by their local WAFL clubs - obviously excluding local Perth clubs.

Bad luck for the lad. I agree we should be right over this. He is a very talented player and will be a big asset to our midfield and small forward options. And he is a one point player. With his delisting he is automatically a Perth player again.
There is a bit of a lull in activity at the moment but our football department should be in full swing seeking out potential key replacement players e.g. a ruckman, a tall key forward etc.
On another note I noticed in the West today that Brady Grey has been appointed assistant coach of the WCE AFLW team.

Well he won't be back at Lathlain next year.

Grey won't be playing for us but I hope that Luke English will.

Regardless of the three mids back from injury Gray will be a huge out.
