Who cares where they were, finals always bring out more supporters well other than WP fans today I suspect that was just your normal home and away supporters there.
If Carnwest wants to come on here with comments like that I just hope you put up a good showing down at the Port next week.

West Perth are a good chance to roll South Freo next week and the WP supporters will get along and cheer them on...cause they can

I certainly hope its not a WP v Claremont GF, the one positive is capacity wont be a problem at Freo, Given the turn out of WP and Claremont folk on the weekend in fact you could play it at Claremont. Weather didnt help I guess, better weather and Perth would of had an extra 1000 there perhaps.

Bazza other than there small stands at Joondalup WP had stuff all supporters in the outer.
The small capacity of the GF guarantees a sellout regardless of who’s playing.

Ha you perth supporters will find anything to whinge about and make excuses about when you lose. Every touch of the ball by a West Perth player was supposed to be a free kick to perth according to the crap coming out of the perth supporters mouths. Try again in another 23 yrs and still no flag after 43 yrs. Embarrassing!! You supporters seem to forget only have 7 flags in total and if it wasn't for the 3 peat in 60's and double in 70's would only have 2 lol. Respect to the West Perth football club. If Perth was half a club as West Perth you might get somewhere!

A true supporter of a club playing in a semi final would go and watch his own team play even if it was for one quarter.
Or did you take a peak at the scoreboard down at the port and thought stuff that!

Great to see you have so much passion for the Falcons.

Nothing more embarrassing than your last GF appearance and your last two matches. Looks like you are going out in straight sets and your club and Fremantle Lord Mayor are going to have egg on their faces.

Anyway about the game and the season. Atrocious conditions but to me it was a very good game of football. Unfortunately we weren't quite good enough but it's another step in the right direction.

Great turnout by Demons fans. Can't remember seeing so much red and black at a game in decades. In The West they estimate the crowd was 5500 approx, obviously there was the colts and ressies prior, EF def WP in the colts and EP def Subi in the ressies and there were a lot of feral supporters there before our game so all who attended were not necessarily still there during the main game.

Well done to the couple of hundred in the can bar on the outer, you guys made a lot of noise and got the best view as most of the play was on that side.

But given the weather it was a great turnout and put the 2nd semi crowd to shame by the sounds of it. The club and players and coaches have seen what success means to Perth supporters and they all came out of the woodwork. Those of you that don't normally go to games get your arses there to Lathlain on a regular basis and get the joint rocking.

I'd say Perth, Swans and East Perth are clearly the best supported teams in the WAFL by a long way. If we can see all 3 of those teams strong at the same time we are going to see some very good crowds in the coming years.

Congrats to WP, too good again your class came to the fore, Meadows, Black, Nelson, Keitel. We had our chances but poor skill execution cost us the game although I reckon we produced the most exciting football. But gee WP do get kissed on the cock by the umps and they are the most arsiest football team I've ever seen. Twice their players soccer it off the ground and it goes in the air straight into the lap of a team mate for a shot on goal and Meadows soccers one through the air from about 15 metres out.

What shit's me about umpiring the most is when they don't pay the first one and then pick out one the other way. They gave about 3 free kicks in a row to WP that led to that goal to Pierce that put them in front and our boys lost their mojo after that.

It wasn't the finish we wanted but it was a great day and great game of football in tough conditions.

Hopefully we continue to progress and if we make a GF in the next couple of years it will be a Optus Stadium, not at some suburban shithole.

DD...good write up....IMO success drives success and now that your boys have tasted it I'd say it will only get better from here. There's nothing worse than continually failing even after doing all the hard work as you well know for the last 20 years and I experienced last century. I think Perth is on the up and clearly now a destination club given recruits like Masten, Dela, Grey, McInnes et al. Well done to the club as a whole.

Very true BC, back to back 6th place finishes followed by making finals in a top 4 not a top 5 and having been the best performed club out of the bottom 6 against the top teams first losing to WP by 7 points and 11 points in the semi final, defeating Claremont at Claremont who have made it through to the GF and knocking off the previously undefeated SF.

It was a major step forward and no one really expected us to defeat WP. It is important now we keep that momentum going and it will be both an exciting and challenging next couple of years on and off the field for the club.

We have a new coach in place already which adds stability and continuity and I've been told the redevelopment of our facilities gets under way before the end of this year so I would doubt our new faculties will be ready for next season but who knows? So the club will need to find a new temporary base to run the club from and train from and play home games at.

I wonder if we could use the Claremont Showgrounds like Claremont did? It's not too far from Lathlain and accessible by train. I quite enjoyed traveling there to play Claremont. It's a great place to park.

What about Gosnells Oval in the actual Perth district as a temporary home?

Perth have many grounds at which they could train even the WACA (although too small to play) , including a temp admin area.
Easily done, the WAFC have been operating out of the library of the old Tuart College since leaving Subi.
Match days could be a ground sharing at Steel Blue Basso.
A game every week like at Leederville.
