It will be interesting to see how he performs against top quality defenders from the likes of S,SF,CL and EF Jupp

The good thing is, and I can’t remember the last time I’ve been able to say this, our forward line this year is probably our strength and one of the most potent in the comp. Fraser McInness, Logan McDonald, Matt Rogers and ex Claremont forward Jack Richardson showed yesterday he is a handy addition.

And we haven’t seen Samuel Stubbs yet from the NEAFL who was recruited as a forward but curiously has been played as a midfielder and is a big body with good skills and a big leap.

Saw Clint Jones there yesterday in his Perth player kit standing with a few Perth officials looking as fit as he was when he played his last game. Given the season ending injuries to Yeo, Byrne and new recruit Murphy has the club reached out for him to pull the boots back on? Fitness is a non issue for him he is a freak without peer in that department.

It’s probably taylor made for him it’s only an 8 game season with 6 games to go and the possibility of playing finals a real possibility just might get his juices flowing. Hope I hear during the week he is back at training.

DD, yes we finally have targets up front and using them. I would include Delahunty in that group and I am sure that Stubbs will slot in there too.
The big danger ramains...how to lock the ball into the forward half and not succumb to the fast breakaway which has been our problem for too long like a millstone. East Perth exposed us again yesterday. IMO, greater forward pressure and two defenders to not get dragged up the ground too far.
A good call re Clint Jones. Sounds logical. Could it be .....?

I watched Stubbs in 2s. He is miles off it. We know Zed can kick goals, he’s the one. Like TN says if he has freedom to crumb rather than be a key he’ll kick goals. His defence fine.

Zed kicked 5 when we beat Souths in rd 14 last year, then scored goals in next three games before being dropped. He kept his head up in the 2s. Was not involved in the peel debacle. Maybe if he’d played....

Nah Zareth Roe looked miles off for me but not surprising he has only just rejoined training. Blake Johnson is one I'd like to see in there somewhere. Can he play back? Then can drift forward if one goes down? Stubbs was named best in the two's.

Yes I liked the look of Delahunty. Looks very agile with a big leap and likes to go forward and kick a goal. A handy pick up.

You play Zed he’ll kick goals. If Stubbs in the best for twos then he wasn’t no 22. It’s hard without stats etc but he played permanent forward and I don’t recall him having a shot. Or a kick.

You better go to Specsavers on Monday STD, Stubbs played in the midfield all day including centre clearances.

And, DD he looked very comfortable as a midfielder.
I think he can play.
And the surprise to me was to see he is only a 1 point player.

He's got some X factor DF. A good kick on him , mature body and a big leap. In a normal season you probably want to see him over a month of form but this year is different. Might be worth a roll of the dice with him. TBH we don't have much in the ressies, they get flogged every week.

Interestingly Clint Jones whilst not on the PFC website player list remains on the WAFL list.
Not such a silly call.
His points probably would be down to 5 or 7.
Murphy could be put on a long term injury list?

I'm not suggesting Roe has demanded selection on form. I am saying that if we are to drop Quill or Jones, he would be the best replacement. He's shorter than Jones, but has a good leap and can take a mark. The fact is that I doubt Jones or Quill ever have or ever will kick 5 goals or more in a game. Roe has shown he's capable of doing that and without the pressure of being the main focal point could cause opposition defence some problems.

BJ would be in front of Roe at this stage for mine. Let Roe get a few games under his belt.
