Yeh saw it on the news last night. Spend some on hospitals Mark and public housing and chuck the rest of it on the massive credit card debt please. Regards Voter and tax payer.

Gotta keep some of the huge surplus to cover the endless blowouts for the Metronet project. What is it now 2-3 times over budget? Public housing is a critical priority but we need to resolve the skills and materials shortages first and crack down on greedy subbies who are over pricing to rediculous levels. Brickies asking $3.50 to lay 1 brick is just totally out of order. 18 months ago it was $1.50 and that was extremely good rates.

There needs to be more incentives for the private sector to get back into housing and unit development otherwise the rental crisis will keep getting worse, if thats possible. A friend has a Bed-sit unit for rent in a tower in North Freo, barely 40m2 and she turned her phone off after making 50 inspection appointments, including people from over east.

So the Emperor has almost finished boasting about the massive multi billion $ surplus out of the budget, almost all of which comes from iron ore royalties and the GST distribution, so not much from this government. We get a $400 rebate on our Synergy bills, but it's a case of give with one hand and take away with the other. Energy costs will rise, vehicle licencing/rego is going up... how is this justifiable given the huge surplus?

He has introduced reductions in land tax for developers who build rental only developments, but that is a very small % of what developers do, the vast majority of development is for sale. There is a massive shortage of houses for sale and more so for rent, developers who build to sell should also get this tax break but must include a % of low cost dwellings within each development as will be the case for rent only developments. The more dwellings that get built means more for sale and more for rent, it aint rocket science. Then there must be a programme to entice tradies from interstate and overseas to address the shortages, so we dont get Brickies charging $4 ++ to lay a brick which is outrageous.

A concern I have is the whole medical system, particularly having people die waiting for an ambulance, albeit a national concern.  I hope Mark has an actual plan to tackle it now, right now.

Now our emperor has taken aim at St John regarding the ambulance system, sending "outside consultants" in to "sort things out". FMD, talk about trying to distract away from the real issue.

Sadly, just heard that another elderly person has passed away from a heart attack while waiting 2 hrs for the Ambo's. Surely it's about Ambo's parked up (ramped) for hours by our basket case hospital system waiting for the understaffed over worked nurses, doctors and support staff to find them a bed and someone to attend to them. The Ambo's cant respond if they are already in a queue with a patient waiting hours to get to the emergency doors.

Does our arrogant one trick pony of a premier think he can continue to bluff and bully his way through this desperate situation? Touch wood, I just hope that I dont need an ambo any time soon, these poor workers are getting canned by the bloke who should be sorting out the hospital system rather than demonising St John's who have served our community for countless decades.
