but hey quite happy to wait after an Ashes flogging....and most probably a NZ flogging next year for you, Hohns et al to be imaginative with some selections....was actually gonna go with Bosisto over Short....but hey CA does have the entertainment factor to consider I guess......

but good of you to comment mate....bit of fun....but hey see your point mate....Interesting you pass comment on your concerns for Pucovski's mental health / HI issues v the Indian quicks...yet you have no problem mentioning my apparent drinking status on a public forum..even tho I could be a raging alcoholic....or recovering one.....love ya "concern" fella....and for Pucovski too....LOL.....

Shame on you mate for kicking back with a sux pick of puss in Kiwi land, those boys at Bassendean with can in hand are a tad rightous over the holiday period. All the best for the holiday season.

Well Labuschagne is an interesting addition to the Australian squad for the 4th Test at the SCG. One that will have the Indian players rushing to the chemist to stock up on Imodium, as no doubt they will all be crapping like big black Alsatians at his selection. Maybe it's our way of giving them a dose of 'Aussie belly', sound strategy from Langer et al.

Labuschagne is the "best" we have sadly Ooooll.....or is he?....averaging 28 with the bat, he certainly does conform to the current Aust top 6 batting mantra....get 30 but don't u dare go on........and 2 wickets at 59.....certainly will probe those Indian techniques.....good luck to the guy....he definitely in a no win situation here.....

hard to think an Ashes test squad will be chosen with 3 tests left on offer for any prospective tourist to audition....obviously irrespective of team dynamics and morale Warner and Smith are two definites......bowling wise won't be a selectors problem.....tho interesting observation by Warne that Starc and Hazlewood average in the 40s for dismissing top 6 batsmen ... with Cummins in the 20s....be interesting which other fast bowlers get the nod...as for the batsmen?....fark I hope Hohns, Chappell, Langer and MO have a few imaginative selections under their hats.....wonder if my neighbours Alsation is eyeing an all expenses paid tiki tour of the UK next year...be more than happy to go as his PC coach Oooll.....

Twas good to hear Warne's stats regarding Starc and Hazlewood's relative poor form with the ball (as I have been saying the same for some time especially Starc).
Starc's form has really fallen away in the last year or so not only with the ball but also the bat as even Gary The Goat is far more reliable with the blade and he could be looking at a fall to 10 in the order if he does happen to keep his spot although some decent scalps in the oppositions top order wouldnt go astray and may keep the wolves from the door.
Hopefully the likes of Pattinson, Tremain, Richardson, Meredith, *Stanlake et al can have good second half seasons in the Shield to put pressure on Starc and Hazlewood before we head off to the ol Dart for the 2019 Ashes.

Can't believe that Labuschangue has been selected based on the figures that Freezin has quoted. 28 with the bat and 59 with the ball in shield!!!! Now if those two figures were reversed he might be worth a spot. He didn't really set the world on fire in the UAE either. FFS what a massive own goal. At least Maxwell has a test century to his name and might give the Indians something to think about. Maybe Mr Labuschangue has a healthy dose of that elusive quality that Langer seems to value, namely "elite honesty"

I struggle to believe how he even made the squad to the UAE let alone play a Test against Pakistan, good luck to the bloke as he didn't pick himself. Who knows, besides being a great mate with Langer he may well be best mates with Mitch Mellow who gave him a few tips on how to get picked for Australia when your Shield performances are ordinary.

they have picked him because they think the pitch will spin, forgetting that the number three for Melbourne can do the bloody spin bowlling. Having said that, I would drop Hazlewood and play the spinner and Mitch Marsh.

It does appear that some are out of the frame for whatever reason - Renshaw and Maxwell spring to mind, I'm not advocating for either just pointing it out for what it is.
And then there is Mitch Marsh, who unfortunately can't score a run or take a wicket, has played over 30 Tests, with over 50 innings in that and averages 25 with the bat and there seems to be people tripping over themselves to put him in the team. This is someone who bats in the top 6, who actually gets away with that type of average over that type of period.
Good luck to the bloke is all I can say.

ool: with the suad they have picked I would it this way:

Finch
Harris
Usman
Marsh S
Head
Lab
Paine
Marsh M
Cummings
Starc
Lyon

In this way you can bat the second Marsh 8, which is more his level, make use of his bowlling and play the second spinner.

Ark...makes sense dropping Hazlewood, the Indians will probably drop I Sharma and play Ashwin....Whilst R Sharma is out with Pandya perhaps coming in......you would have to bat Paine at six in front of Mitch Marsh....if Marsh plays....there is no need for Hazlewood to play if the pitch is gonna turn....saying that is Labuschagne good enough to bowl 20 odd overs....esp since he has taken only 2 wickets in the Sheffield shield so far at 59?....I guess if India plays two spinners and drops a paceman.... does that mean Finch plays?

Same as you Ark -
Harris, Uzzie, S Marsh Finch Head Labuschagne Paine M Marsh Cummins Starc Lyon
Only reason Finch is at four is because if Head goes there Aust first 4 batsmen are all lefties....Ashton would love that.....gonna love Sydney anyway me thinks
