Burns has played well in the Shield and should be included. If they pick Renshaw they will be picking somebody whom averages 19 in the Shield this season.

I agree regarding Wade, however there is logic in that he is the form batsman in the Sheffield Shield. And Wade averages 26, well that's one more run an innings than Mitch Marsh after over 30 tests and 50 innings.
As for Renshaw at least he has shown some ticker at the crease and put some value on his wicket, his start to the Shield season was far from ideal and that would have counted against him. That said, others seem to have been picked on the back of very little.
Burns coming in at the top of the order, on the back of some decent form and the fact he has scored test runs before, makes him someone you could turn to. Flying to South Africa on a days noticed to open after that debacle wasn't ideal and in all fairness another go for him should be considered.

He’s making heaps in T20, but he’s been around long enough to know a bit about test cricket. There’s heaps of these guys around that are in fantastic form, so why not take the blinkers off and look around and try one or two. For heaven’s sake, they couldn’t do any worse than the crabs we have out there now.

Wade is a worse keeper than Paine, also a failure against quality test bowling. One looks at Finch as an example of one who is great at 20/20 , BUT technique lacking in test cricket ( and it shows). Sadly the test batsmen we have just dont have the concentraion or skill set to play test cricket. Travis head another example, great hand eye, but watched him toay, did not have a clue gainst spin or pace!!

Ok, fair enuff, just a thought. Surely Finch and M Marsh have to go. I like JL’s loyalty, but sheesh, it’s costing Aus big time.

Thank god for Cummins and Gary The Goat during this Series otherwise it would have been a 4-0 pantsing.
The batsmen have offered little to nothing and even Starc and Hazlewood have been out of sorts with the ball at times maybe they are still not fully recovered from their off season surgeries.
Time to look ahead to Winter with an English Ashes Series coming up in 2019 tbh I couldnt give a rats about the Sri Lanka Tests coming up it is all about the Ashes and how we can finally knock The Soap Dodgers off on their home dungheap for the first time since 2001!

The side is that dysfunctional that the bowllers do the bowlling and the batting; in particular, Cummings is a credit to himself.

And Mitch Marsh is supposed to both, and in reality he does neither.

Cummins may well turn out to be the all rounder that Australia have been looking for. His technique is better than most in the top order and looking at his innings today he is adding more attacking strokes to his repertoire. I don't think he is quite ready to bat at 6 yet but I think he will make a test century one day. Who knows it might be tomorrow if Lyon and Hazlewood can hang around long enough with him. India have totally outplayed Australia in this test and will richly deserve their victory. The Australian selectors have some tough calls to make before Sydney, particularly on Finch and Mitch Marsh both of whom are easy wickets for Bumrah and Co at the moment due to some obvious technique problems

Obviously no changes will be made by the Aussie selectors for the up coming Sydney test.....bit of a catch 22 here tho.....you want Aust to win to at least not to lose the series and deprive Kohli of being the captain of an Indian side to ever win a series in Aust since the day dot....but to do that.... certain not so wanted players need to perform....thus possibly meaning no changes for the Sri Lanka games....and then quite possibly gaining brownie points for an Ashes tour......

Interesting tho, India drop both their openers, fly a guy in from outside their squad....totally foreign to Aust conditions.....and he scores runs......wonder if Langer et al have the fortitude to bring in say a Burns or Short from the BBL to open.....drop Finch and M Marsh.....if folk here had the chance to go open slather on the Aussie side for Sydney....what would their choices be....ignore the fact it won't happen....just go for it......

Burns, Harris, Pucovski, Uzzie, Sangha, Short, Paine, Cummins, Starc J Richardson Lyon.....

Just seen Labuschagne has been added to test team.....LOL....inspiring choice JL et al.....hasn't bowled or batted at any FC level for how long?.....

Been on the drink already Freezin ?
Put in a kid at 3 who has only just returned from mental health issues and has concussion issues from a weakness against the short ball against 3 world class quicks.
As for Darcy Short you have definitely been drinking

MO like I said sir....just throwing it out there......not a case of being on the drink....just looking ahead to the future perhaps......

but hey quite happy to wait after an Ashes flogging....and most probably a NZ flogging next year for you, Hohns et al to be imaginative with some selections....was actually gonna go with Bosisto over Short....but hey CA does have the entertainment factor to consider I guess......

but good of you to comment mate....bit of fun....but hey see your point mate....Interesting you pass comment on your concerns for Pucovski's mental health / HI issues v the Indian quicks...yet you have no problem mentioning my apparent drinking status on a public forum..even tho I could be a raging alcoholic....or recovering one.....love ya "concern" fella....and for Pucovski too....LOL.....
