I am actually more looking at the next Ashes series next summer Freeze that is why I would be blooding both Green & Pucovski against India now so that they have a good 12 months of International experience before we take on the arch enemy!

Spot on mate....the likes of Wade and Burns will be older and realistically no better v Eng next year, whilst Pucovski and Green will only improve one would think with more exposure at the next level....I reckon the Indians won't be holding back on young guns Shaw and Gill, both those boys look exciting and long term term players....

One fella who impresses me a lot is Michael Neser ....a Ryan Harris clone in stature, competitive and gives 100% in everything he does....

With Warner now officially out of the 1st test, Burns who cannot buy a run and Pucovski in doubt due to concussion issues, we are really back to the drawing board for the opening partnership. We may need to go back to someone like Khawaja who has a pretty good record opening in test cricket. Harris is obviously an option but would they go with two left handers?
Based on the Australia A game, Neser would have to be ahead of Pattinson in the pecking order IMO

Oh god no Mike.
I would much rather we picked Shaun Marsh than him.

Why not open with Wade, tell him it's a T20 game. Reckon if Pucovski hadn't of been sconed last minute on the noggin, Harris and Pucovski would of played in Adelaide..can't see how it won't be Burns and Harris now....Wade will get the nod over Green too, purely because he has scored a few runs in the last 2 T20's....Starc will play over Neser or Pattinson....despite being flogged in every match so far v India....

WTF are these Indians up to? First Pucovski now Green with a head injury scare...you think that the tourists want Burns and Wade to play instead of Pucovski and Green in Adelaide!

Would be dreadful luck if both Green & Pucovski are forced to miss the 1st Test due to concussion.

On another note anyone watching the WI vs NZ Test on atm?
The West Indies have become nothing short of laughable especially in the field, the likes of Richards, Lloyd, Harper, Logie etc who were nothing short of dynamic in the field must shake their heads in disbelief at this current calamitous crew parading as Caribbean cricketers!

bh; yep, all true about the wi -- interestingly, harper was not a great field towards the end of his career, either

Hard to assess that NZ performance, their bowling attack looks the goods, but then the WI are not test standard unfortunately. Yep NZ have beaten the likes of India and Eng at home recently, but India were coming off a hyped test series win over Aust and that Eng side is far different to the one now....but hey you can only beat what is in front of you I guess....which Aust did easily v NZ last year.

So looks like Harris and Burns are the only fit openers left standing at present, unless JL goes outside the squad for reinforcements. Surely Burns can't be picked, might as well open with Labuschagne, because if Burns plays Labuschagne will be in within a few overs. Harris frustrates me, shield bully with consistently big 100s, yet can't get passed 30 at the next level before playing some stupid cut shot of some sort. Can't see how Green will play, so Wade will keep his spot, kinda hoping Burns and Wade play and Aust get walloped, because if they play well and Aust win they will be in for the rest of the series....catch 22 it seems.

Can't see how Starc can come straight in, got smashed in the ODI stuff, hasn't bowled since I don't think...so not sure he will be on the money TBH for Thursday....Pattinson or Neser for me....Cummins and Hazlewood pick themselves.

For once hoping S Marsh gets the nod as a fill in....Gee that's how bad Burns is going I reckon
