Freo need to change their game plan pretty quickly or they will drop off again real fast this manic pressure they bring in the first & second quarters burn them out & by half time they are cooked. Ross need to change now before it’s too late as the young kids will suffer..plus Sandi needs to hold his marks he should mark everything but rarely does.

Freo were far from burnt out, they played it right out to the end, just lacked a bit of finish that WC had. They are on the right track and Lyon is doing a fine job.

I always felt once we lost Taberner last week we were going to be up against it. It just threw out the balance of the forward line and I don't think Johnno was the right option to bring in. Not sure about Kerstens form but seems Ross doesn't rate him or lost patience with him. And I don't buy it that Meek and Jones are not ready. I can see Sandilands breaking down soon if Ross doesn't give him proper support.

Walters has been carrying a knee injury for how long now? Has he ever had an operation to fix it properly? I reckon he'll be out for a while. Taberner out for 2 or 3 months, Brad Hill has he had an operation or just a rest and hope?

This is going to be a big test for Ross. Does he go back to the likes of Danyle Pearce and Cam Suttcliffe or does he invest in the youngsters of the future? I fear D. Pearce will get a call up.

Yeah not a real smart thing to do,it’s all over social media so I suspect right now it’s a piece of Time he’d like back.

Good summary a/man. I was there and the atmosphere was brilliant. I thought the intercept marks taken by McGovern, Barrass and co highlighted just how badly Freo needs to develop another tall marking option down forward. I also thought Freo were beaten in the midfield which was very surprising as for mine, Freo has more depth and talent through the middle. But as you say, it was a very good game which could have gone either way. I also thought the maggots made a few strange non-decisions which probably should have gone to Freo. In particular, I think it was Langdon who took a mark inside 50 and McGovern threw him to the ground with no 50 meters when they paid a couple to West Coast for less. But, no whinging from me...good game all round.

Such a great summary of the game, dunno about number 2 , Rance is a great traditional FB.
