Wasn't Greg Harding involved in both clubs at some time.

If you are really going to have a medal then perhaps a person with links to both West Coast Eagles and the history of Fremantle perhaps the most appropriate person would be John Todd given his links to both South and East Fremantle and was the first Eagles's coach to get that team into the VFL finals.

The tenuous link between Glendinning and the Fremantle Football Club clearly showed that the West Coast Eagles ran footy in WA then and continue in their quest to destroy the WAFL today.

Actually a good suggestion idea by yourself 42!

One of many actually. Here are a couple more:

(i) sack the entire WAFC and replaced them with people who actually are interested the WAFL;
(ii) disband the host club alignment at the end of 2018'
(iii) disband the TAC cup style colts' competition in the WAFL;
(iv) state CATEGORICALLY and UNEQUIVOCALLY that the order of games on a Saturday will be colts followed by reserves followed by the league

Bobby WHO?

Teddy WHO?

That's it we should name it the VICTORIAN PARASITE LEAGUE.

Or we could name it after Pav and cellarbrate an SA footballer. That's the bit people don't get, the medal is supposed to be a cellebration of an iconic WA footballer.

This conversation would not be happening if Glendinng was not working for the eagles the last few years.

The fixture does not deserve a medal. If the Dockers were not so ineffectual and insignificant you could perhaps make a case, but until they actually win a few flags it is just self aggrandisement.

Hilarious if what I'm reading on Twitter is true. Have Freo already backflipped on the medal for the derby?? After this derby it will be known as the glendeninng / Ben Allan medal?

Who is Ben Allan?

Premiership player from Hawthorn something Rosco wouldn't know about , but anyway after this Derby the medal will be changed to the Glendinning/Allan medal and Rosco or Allan won't have any voting rights on it , will be decided by the media good outcone from both parties, the WAFC has apparently stepped in.

Anyway this is a thread about the Derby so whose winning the Derby this week Tugga and why.

With apologies to PN and a/man who would like to discuss the match between the two WA domiciled WA teams but what a DISGRACE that McHenry and the WAFC rush to resolve a storm in a tea cup but don't raise a little finger to stop the WAFL going under.

I would say that if anything it was a win for the FFC in regards to the medal. Fremantle could have gone along for many years not liking the name of the medal.They stood their ground and did not back down to the supposedly always right Eagles.

Suppose it's a bit of a consolation prize for Allan, especially after the way he was treated by Freo after coming back to WA from a very successful stint at Hawthorn.

Still very embarrassing for Freo the way it was handled, but , should we expect anything less?

As for the game, I'm expecting the eagles to roll Freo, eagles have way too many scoring options. Freo lacks a forward line, Cam will go missing as usual in big games,no tabenar, where do the goals come from?. Eagles have negating cattle to cater for Fyfe and whilst freo's backline is much better this year, won't be able to match it with quality forwards.

Eagles by 32 points
