It just felt for 3 quarters that the Hawks were in control. After 1/4 time it was becoming obvious that they were in control.
It was amazing how many Eagles supporters were there though. Did you hear the boos? There must have been 35k Eagles booers there, 3k Hawks supporters and 5k pure unbiased and fair dorks supporters. amazing.

Freo have a lot of decisions to make in the off season. They may have to go back a few steps to go forward again as there would have to be some question marks about some of those players out there tonight. Under the pump from tonights game would be Taberner, Sheridan, Danyle Pearce and De Boer. I wonder about the temperament of some freo players under pressure.

They have to find a method where they can average at least 3 or 4 more goals per game, if it means some trading to get a decent forward then they need to do it. They are a very one dimensional team and need to have more than one string to their bow.
As for the Hawks, good luck to anyone trying to stop them next week.

Premierships are very tough to win, even one. This Hawthorn team will be remembered as one of the greatest in the history of the AFL. No shame to lose to them tonight I would have thought. As I said good luck to the Eagles or Roo's next week, they will be pushing a rather large barrow uphill I would suspect.

I think you summed it up pretty well Mikeh. At the end of the day it was 17 shots to 19. The Hawks are a very good side and didn't make as many mistakes as Freo.
The hawks were clear favourites to win the game and it panned out that way.
As far as The village Idiots comment about Lyons era is over. That's definitely not the case. They wont challenge for the flag next year but they will be about the place.

have to say the dockers crowd shamed themselves last night. that footage of the fella hitting a woman, the dick brain who stood up to Issac Smith, and then the gutless tool who hung 3/4s of the way over the fence to abuse Luke Bruest when he injured his back on the steel railing on the fence. All in all it made them look like a bunch of idiotic twats Im afraid. Its a pity a few manic heroes have to spoil it for the masses, but they did. I horrible image for the dockers, apparently the AFL boss is about to make a statement about it.
