Weak as piss freo some serious questions need to be asked of this club, their leaders were putrid tonight including the bloke in the box totally out coached yet again.

Freo need to find players with skill. Always said we would struggle against quality skilled teams...and it showed big time tonight.

If you can't hold simple marks and can't kick straight forward goals you don't belong at AFL level. Simple as that. A lot of questions need to be asked about the recruiting of this club and not sure Ross Lyon is the man to take us forward.. Hard to be critical given where we finished on the ladder prior to the finals but alarm bells have been ringing loud ever since getting smashed by Hawthorn in Launceston.

Ross Lyon struggles to attract big name recruits and I am dismayed how some players don't get a look in such as Duffy and Ballard.

Time for freo to have a cleanout. Get rid of their wanna be's. Build a bit of depth. Pretty disappointed myself. Would have loved them to win and Eagles to win tomorrow night. A derby GF, how good would that have been?
Is it true Ross the boss rang Adelaide FC at three quarter time??
I'm very worried about tomorrow night though, because all the "experts" have granted the Eagles a win. It won't really matter though. Hawks look the goods for a 3peat.

Correct Rock, bottom 5 or so at Freos are average soldiers, its lyons style. "Role" players will get you so far, BUT ya cant beat skill/class
Dawson Sutcliffe muzungu sheridan just dont have the skills. Thing is too that style Lyon coaches is very sapping, hope it doesnt burn too many blokes out.

Ross has got all he can get out of his players.Sorry for Pav and big Sandi and Luke M.Had there chances throughout the match but the Hawks where just to good.

Freo have always struggled to get big name recruits. Ross Lyon isn't the problem he has got an average list into 4 final series in a row, best we have done, he is a very good coach and we are lucky to have him. The problem is convincing good players to come over, I don't know what the answer is.

JB do you think his style is good enough to win a GF?. He was very similar at the Saints, they won 19 in a row, but couldnt win a GF.

Hawks were just unbelievable tonight. 15 goals 4 in a high pressure final was just clinical. They were just not missing. The Dockers did a lot of things right but they were just not as clean in crucial moments as Hawthorn. Even in the last quarter they had a chance but those dropped marks by Sheridan and Mzungu put the final nail in the coffin.

Freo have a lot of decisions to make in the off season. They may have to go back a few steps to go forward again as there would have to be some question marks about some of those players out there tonight. Fyfe was heroic and showed his true quality even on one leg but he is carrying too much of the burden for other teammates. Under the pump from tonights game would be Taberner, Sheridan, Danyle Pearce and De Boer. I wonder about the temperament of some freo players under pressure.

They have to find a method where they can average at least 3 or 4 more goals per game, if it means some trading to get a decent forward then they need to do it. They are a very one dimensional team and need to have more than one string to their bow.
As for the Hawks, good luck to anyone trying to stop them next week.

I think Ross is the right coach...but ultimately he picks/recruits players with substandard skills. The players you've mentioned battle with simple skills, mind you I think Mzungu is OK. I thought Taberner would step up tonight but didn't...will he ever turn the corner??? I think Barlow is done.
