Their weakness is in the midfield and they have a number of players who are have not developed as expected over the last few years. Priddis is their best and most consistent player in this area, but even he is not in the same class as guys like Fyfe, Mundy, Hill and Barlow. The Eagles would love one or two of the Dockers mids.

Don't fully agree Mike. They have a damn good defence and an ok forward line. Yep, their midfield hasn't come on as well as they thought it would and they have been left behind there. Not to worry, Fyfe will be running around in the blue & gold next year ;)

Shark i know you will give a good response, as I said earlier I listened to game on the Radio, but after one quarter it sounded as though Le Cras, Kennedy and Darling went missing Quarters 2 & 3. I would have thought lack of supply, yet stats show WCE had more inside 50's, so what was it or a case of both, or poor disposal into the 50m?

Mr AFL wrote: BTB is right. Adam Simpson is 10 games into a senior coaching role after 5-6 years as an assistant. Worsfold was a man that knew what he wanted and he knew how to get it. Nothing against Simpson but I reckon the Eagles could have appointed a senior assistant for a couple of years just to help him out.

The midfield is the obvious area that needs improving. I don't think that the overall squad was left in a poor state but there's definitely a case to say this side on paper is good enough to play finals.

I reckon there is a strong case to be mounted for the trading of Andrew Gaff, Chris Masten to try and get an inside player or one with pace. Callum Sinclair is another who could be offered back to a Victorian club and you might be able to get a pick between 25-35 for him.

I think people are judging Simmo too soon, after all, he was highly respected at the hawks. Gaff looks a bit disinterested, so offer him up, keep Masten, keep Sinclar - got me effed why Lycett seems to be the flavour of the month - offer him up too. Sinclair has a bit of Cox in his play  ..did I really say that?? Lots say that Rosa is brilliant, but I haven't seen that for some time..same with Shuey. Gotta say that I love Jamie Bennell's work though.

The class of WC players isn't the problem, sure they could use some pace and/or size in the middle to get them to flag contention, the hunger and attitude is not there, something is not right, the coach or the playing group, it's really pretty simple.

I reckon it's a combination of booth, the quality is just not there when and were it counts, it's pretty much the same problem as the last few years, that indicates the list is not much chop, thy can't beat better teams, last year everyone blamed wosha for being flat and the team lacking endeavour , well wosha could not get them going and looking at last weeks effort Simpson appears to have the same problem, infact pears worse. That was clearly one of the worst performances at home on record for the eagles, Simpson is an inexperienced first year senior coach, lacks a fair bit of presence , I'm not sure if that's the ingredients a team in the place the WCE are at need to lift them out, fact is eagles went to hawthorn with the big name fish in mind, could not get him got lured by all the success of the modern day hawks sweet talked into a deal to look after a mate of the number one and fell hook line and sinker,

With Gaff obviously going back to Melbourne at the end of the year who do you Eagles fans think they should target for a swap to replace him? He was a number #3 draft pick but he really hasnt done much since 2012 so any bargaining power might have been eroded with his average form.

1991 GF hilarious or was it just plaim embarrassing

You cannot be serious, first club to enter the AFL and it took them only 4 years to reach the Grand Final. Nothing in that to be embarrassed about. Your lot took 20 years and the real question is can you redeem yourselves this year, in my opinion NO!!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

You have to be a clown!!!!

Just for your memory, West Coast enter the AFL in 87, in 88 they place their first elimination final against the Demons. They also got screwed that year as it was their home final but had to play it at Waverley. Doing the Mathis that is 2 year after entering the competition. 2 year later they reach a prelim and the year after that they were defeated in their very first GF only to redeem themselves in 92!!!!

Your first final at home, reamed by the bombers in front of your home crowd, now that was funny     :woohoo: :woohoo:

Why do you assume who I follow. One thing for sure it is not a State side that was allowed into the VFL against Suburban teams, and yes that was not anyones doing but the VFL chasing money. But 1991 beaten by 16th side in final round and then smashed in GF, the result don't lie
