Peter, Watson may have admitted he was injected with a banned substance,it is problematical if he knew or not,,but he hasn't returned a positive test either.
Don't try and tell me that the illegal drug Benny and co were on wasn't or isn't performance enhancing.Ask the nurses and aids at the emergency sections of hospital about what it is like every weekend.

The substance that Watson has admitted to taking is banned but what Cuzzy and co took is illegal.
I don't think Watson should be playing but the AFL have sat on their hands,due I think to the fact that the Fat man opened his mouth earlier and has been told to shut it.Maybe not by ASADA or the WADA,but by the CCC,who have a big interest in this issue.

It doesn't matter whether Jobe knew it was legal or not, WADA has stated several times ignorance is not an excuse, under the WADA guidelines

A/M can you show me a link where Meth is performance enhancing I would be very surprised if you could, I really don't see the link with Cousins one was is a junkie, Meth is a social problem, Peds are down right cheating.

No doubt a lot of the jeering was directed at Jobe but i also think a lot of it was directed at the AFL, for its incompetence in this matter.

I think you will find Croad played for Fremantle, not Wesct Coast, so I dont think the West Coast fans ever booed him.

I have spoken to many doctors and nurses who have said they are amazed at how Ben could even get out on the track andf train, let alone how he could play and be as good as he was with his drug additction. I asked the simple question "Was his drug use helping his football" the simple answer "definately not, it was doing the opposite".

Therefore Ben Cousins was using banned substances, and he was banned. Jobe Watson has taken a performance enhacing banned substance, admitted it, and should definately be banned for longer.

Funny how you say the Eagles fans are bad for booing, when the Eagles were walking off after a tough loss, the Bombers fans booed the Eagles? Why were the Eagles booed? I have no idea. At least there was a reason behind the booing of Jobe Watson (not that I booed or agreed with it). Must come to the conclusion that Essendon fans are the worst?

Ben Cousins wasn’t suspended for drug use, he was suspended for bringing the game into disrepute. He fled a booze bus on foot to evade police.

He was then arrested in Melbourne for being drunk in a public place. After that incident he was pulled over in Northbridge where a quantity of drugs was found in his car which he didn’t have a prescription for also found were "party drugs". he did not comply with police instructions by refusing a blood test.

The AFL then did what they did after they had learnt of these matters and said that it wasn’t a good look for the game.

I'm not an Eagles supporter at all, but Ben was one of my favorite players. Everyone makes mistakes, but as long as you learn from them that’s what counts

Jobe was honest about what happened, which in this day and age is a rarity. Why cant people respect that he has been upfront.

There was no need to for eagles supporters to Boo him like they did.

Bazza, maybe you like to read Woman's Day or New Idea but I am not overly interested in the personal lives of the players. They amuse at times but thats it. My priority is the game of footy.
I admit totally I have stuff all morals in terms with peoples lives. Morals are man made and man is inherently average.
My moral is only in fair ground for competition.

players and teams have been booed at the footy since the 50's

now all of a sudden its a sin. not condoning it but people and commentators are getting too precious these days. any supporter who says their clubs fans are angels are simply kidding themsleves.
overall it was a cracking game of footy & a real contest.

Just to add to that comment. Any team who thinks that WCE are the only team with players that have drug 'issues' are kidding themselves.
Not that I think taking drugs recreationally is an issue. Alcohol is more of an issue that recreational party drugs. But that is another subject.

ive been to many many kangaroos games here over the years. some of the things dockers fans have said i could not mention. eagles too, but its everywhere. have you ever been to a collingwood game in melbourne? they have a genuine hatred in their eyes at games and they do not bottle anything up. they let everyone have it and they dont care.

like i said booing who cares? are we all of a sudden 5th graders again. it gives the media yet another baseless out of left field subject to help sell their papers or watch their tv shows. and we all fall for it everytime. we never talk about just footy anymore. the media dont allow us too.
