Agreed, enourmous risk with McGhoo at the healm, with him wanting endless lockdowns even with 70% of us fully vaxed , it truly makes you wonder if we can ever get put of the corner we are painted into and yes, a Optus lockdown the night before the GF could well happen if a case appears just east of Nullagine near a black stump and dry well.

Something like that wouldn't surprise me in the least DD. I also hope tickets will be available to everyone and not just AFL club members as it was the taxpayers of WA who paid for the stadium and not the over entitled, self absorbed AFL cohort.

Confirmed - just 10K tickers available to general WA public, piss poor.

26k for corporate junkets and AFL/WAFC hangers on, although any seats not taken up by the 2 competing clubs once their preferential sales time finishes, goes into the public bucket. Expect quite a few to be available given only the WA based members of the teams can buy tickets, cats and D's have maybe 2000 local members, the Doggies even less, If Port get in they will grab all their allocation plus any left over by the other team given no restrictions for SA to WA travel.

It would be even worse numbers for corporate tickets for a GF at the MCG plus you have to factor in the combined 50k+ MCC/MCG/AFL members tickets seats set aside as well.
Even competing teams members only get about 12k tickets each to distribute to in some cases clubs with 50k-100k members.
Lets face it very few real footy supporters get to attend afl gf's, that has been the reality for decades!

Just sitting here watching the footy and I was thinking about the future of the AFL finals.  Fat Eddie and cohorts may have secured the GF at Melbourne for the next 30 or 40 years and put a smug smile on their faces, but last two years have proved that nothing is set in stone.  I know there are contracts in place, but contracts are broken.  Nothing is forever fat one!!
