Just hold on there Bazza, I have agreed with the majority of your posts up until this point.
Do not for one second think that the members had anything to do with this. We did not get our club into this and we donated as much money as we could to get them out of it. Some of us do not have money to throw away as much as we may want to. We pay our memberships, cheers and support our team week in and week out.
We leave the running of the business to the people who are paid to do so. We are more of a victim here than you standing high and mighty on your soapbox.

So are you proud of the way WPFC has conducted itself?

In no way am I proud of the way WPFC has conducted business and I feel deeply for the creditors who are owed money. They entered into agreements in good faith and that has not been shown in return.

I am just as angry at the people responsible for this but to point the fingers at the members is just plain stupid.
I agree with everything that is being said regarding the club, this is a disgrace and those people who are responsible should be made accountable for their actions, to the full extent.

Why would I be ashamed? I don't run my business like that and I had no part at all in how these muppets who have put us in the shit have done so.

I am very proud to be a member of the West Perth Football Club, I have loved the club all my life just as you probably love your club.
I am disappointed in the people who have been in charge to put our great club at serious risk of closing it's doors and they should be removed with a no return letter.
But ashamed of my club, you must be joking. My club has given me as much joy as anything in my life.

Are you proud of the way your club has handled its commitments? and the financial legacy it will leave on other WAFL clubs in general?

Btw you do know that as a Member and the way an Incorporated Club works each member is in effect an owner of the club so each member bears responsibility for the bodies actions. So you cant worm out of it that easy.

I wrote in previous post that I was disappointed in how appointed people in our club have handled things.

I don't know what your problem is here or what your agenda is but you seem to have this want for this club to die. You are entitled to that view I guess.

And why would I need to worm out of anything?

You want West Perth to die, most reasonable footy minded people would certainly not want that no matter how much they hated that club.
You come across as someone who has an agenda whatever that might be.

Where did I say I want WPFC to die? Quite the contrary , I wanted them to be saved by their own efforts and to honour their commitments.

And as I outlined , my agenda is this, the incorrigible activities of your club and dis honourable handling of debt will have a detrimental impact on every single club in the WAFL. Its a matter of trust and your club has wrecked that.

Its appears I have a great deal more concern for the honour and the standing of the WAFL in the eyes of the community of WA than you certainly do.

How will it effect any other club?

You reckon you run a business? are you sure?

Its laid out above in my other posts, how can other clubs not be impacted when it comes to trust and reliability to repay people?

And not only that , but via WPFC incompetence have laid out a red carpet for the WAFC as a reason for entry into the comp and excuse to exact the changes they want.

GWS the flow on effects could be both positive and negative.

The positives may be that the WAFC decide that they have to actually do something other than attend WCE or Dorkers games, they may even start to scrutinise clubs finance's and thus ensure that the annual reports are accurate, that the leases on grounds are made with all the fine print and facilities are up to standard.

The negative maybe that each of the clubs get hit with a disaster levy that reduces the funds being given to clubs for salaries etc. That may not effect two clubs but certainly will impact on the others. If you take EP with us going it alone, even tho' we have money in the bank we still need $400K each year just to run the club and this impacts on our ability to be competitive in the market place that is WAFL football.

No one wants you to fold but there is going to a bit of nest protection going on and with that a certain level of vitriol level at your club and as someone said earlier as a club the members are the club!

I can't help you if you believe that other clubs creditors will get cold feet now. Certainly West Perth's creditors will and rightfully so. But it should not have any impact on other clubs creditors.

The Eagles will get what they want no matter if this happened or not, if you think it has laid out the rd carpet for them then good for you.

East perth have money in the bank because they haven't had to pay coaches and other costs all other clubs had to the last few years. Welcome back to reality.

I can cop the vitriol aimed at my club, christ we deserve it as we the members appointed dishonest poor business people by the looks of it to run our club.

I still think that the WAFC should pay it out with only about a third as a loan, I would say that about any traditional WAFL club including East perth. After all these 8 traditional clubs have contributed millions upon millions to WA footy over the last century. Not much to ask I reckon even if you and a few other disagree.
