The club has lost its way with this new building and change of staff and president, we need a clean out at the top, but let’s face it the comp is farked with the domination of $cabi and this alignment bullshit, what business would want to sponsor this joke of a competition... really

The rumour is someone is fishing for the alignment.

Name the club c22 that is supposedly "fishing for the alignment". After the damage done to East Perth fromthe alignment you owe it that club's supporters to take action to prevent such an alignment.

If the problems started in 2012, why oh why is it only now becoming public knowledge in the press after all this damn time!?

Well that settles West Perth's future if the likes of Gavin Taylor are involved. Here is a suggestion G Taylor: look in the mirror and check out the photos of the WAFC and you will see the root cause of the WAFL's problems.

WAG attendance have dropped 25% since 2012.Alignment mkii big revenue drop for all the clubs. Not sure if the Joondalup times article is that accurate. Falcon said WP"s problems have been in the last 12 months.

Yes the alignment has been a huge economic windfall for EP but 95% of the supporter base would trade that for not being in it. I would suggest that they may have been heart broken if the club had folded due to its financial position at the time of the decision, so it beggars the question was it a decision that had to be made and how many other clubs (honestly would have opted for it, I can think of at least two)!

I do think some you need to look at how the club has been managed over the last 5 to 6 years, well at least since Dean Turner took over as CEO.

I know from first hand experience that the club stopped the giveaways, the free piss ups and the like! That the past players under the guidance of Trevor Gibson have contributed not just money from their efforts but time and busy bees to help the club avoid costly repairs and maintenance imposts.

I also know that whilst you all bemoan Bronte you need to look at your sponsors and see that AHG and its associates have put in a lot of $'s into your coffers before and since the alignment.

Now WP are in trouble none of which is EP's fault or even the WAFC (outside of due diligence). They made decisions regarding their location, their financial structure (including takings from sources that most other clubs take for granted - the bar, the food etc). As a result of the alignment they like other clubs got extra funding to use as they saw fit!

It would seem that they have fallen for the common issue in today's world, living beyond their means and not operating under what can only be called a business financial management process. To find out under the new CEO's watch that the previous one had not been forthcoming with the real picture is really down to the board and chairman! IT IS A BUSINESS!

I have not tried to justify the EP decision but have tried to give it as a back drop to the incredulous position that WP now find themselves in!

Their are many that say we need to have a presence in the northern suburbs and no question that we do but we need to have a presence that presents to the community that reflects the area and the future.
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

I did not previously see said article. Have only just read it.
My understanding from the story was the situation only noticed after the new manager started her job and then discovered debts going back to 2012?
Didn't realise it was only 12 months..

Word around Bassendean oval yesterday was that the last CEO was asleep at the wheel and the Board have been too.
When you have a 300k gift from the AFL and then declare a 40k profit surely the alarm bells were ringing last year.
Strong that Raponi is being sounded out to come back.

Agree with most of your comments.Getting a new ceo wasn't the only thing that would solve a millstone that had us in debt for decades and had us nearly folding in the 1990's.It was a drastic move to align and I was hoping the 5 years may only be 3 years. The fact that the board were pushing to stay in the alignment at the agm did dissapont me.I suspect the last straw was that we had underperformed again this year. Also some of our better wafl players were dropped down to the reserves so that rookie eagles who were never likely to play a afl game were getting league games.
