Graham Kickett was probably the best kick I've ever seen - silky player

Is it just me but does the standard of players seem unbelievable back then to what we have now even though there are more AuFL teams now than the old VFL ???
I've really enjoyed this topic - brings back great memories - great idea !!!

It certainly was a joy to have a centreline of K Narkle, L Baker, P Narkle.

Golden Boy dirty?.....FMD probably when he played at SF......Kickett was just as much dirty as Donny was mouthy and farkin annoying on the footy field......

Kickett was definitely silky chopper but not silky often enough for my liking..very hot and very cold...loved it with Kickett on one wing, Billy Jones on the other and Muzza Wrensted in the middle.....

Kicking a plethora of goals against the hapless Guppy's would make Donny Holmes annoying to those old saltys in the shark pit at destitute park freeze!
Golden boy may have been the reason for Horse having to wear a helmet for the rest of his career but he was back on deck in plenty of time to kick a handful of snaggas in the 84 GF vs the Guppy's on the way to his 3rd Premiership in a row!

true Donny was a champ BH.....bit soft in the head.....but definitely a champ......pretty sure that's why he had to wear a helmet.....Kickett was awfully skinny from memory.....think Donny wore a helmet for congenital reasons....not traumatic reasons
