I think I'd have George Young before Michael Mort

BC see above ...George Young was no doubt a better footballer but he retired in the 70's meaning I didn't actually see him play so I can't consider him on both fronts!

sorry mate...i didn't realise it had a time limit...in fact George went to St Kilda in 1973 and missed Subi's flag of the same year...so you probably saw snippets of him on the Winners.

No time limit at all for everyone else just a disclaimer on my own personal comments as I wasn't around to really make a valid call but happy to leave that up to those who were around for the previous eras 50s, 60s & 70s. In fact I believe S42 would have seen Swans first game live back in 34!

Ah big Mick Moylan mate - followed Malcolm over from Claremont & I used to love the big bloke , he was the perfect foil for TI when he went forward or ruck-roved around the ground

Until he went to that West Coast crap almost as bad as that Tim Gepp wanker & the Nisbett cockroach
almost

Mick is still around the traps Southy I saw him a few times over the summer at GP still looks in good nick. He seemed to follow Browny around as he went to Perth after SF as footy manager when Browny coached there from memory.

Mort was the most talented player I had seen at Subi since Buckenara, then he did his knee & was never the same. Did anyone else see him play when he was young before the knee injury? He was a freak...

yep...I saw Mort play DG and he actually reminded me of Bucky with his mercurial type of play. could do anything on his day but unfortunately as you say, cut down in his prime with a knee.

Good idea for a new topic DG those players whose promising career was cut down with injury.

yep...that's a good idea mike. i wonder just how far blokes like John Todd would have gone if they were able to see out their careers. toddy did an ACL in his second year at age 18 but still had an impact for a few years....what could he have achieved if it never happened?

Yes he reminded me of Bucky too BC. Sounds good Beas lets get it happening. Funnily enough George Young was also cut down with a knee when he came back to us preseason '78 or '79 I think it was. He never played again.
