This is a tournament that makes millions and millions of dallrs every year.It is a body that has been for many years, maybe forever, run by corrupt people.People taking large bribes. The draw for the next place the tournament is played is rigged, a rort.
Minnow sides like Australia are dangled a carrot, a sniff of a chance to make it to the top level. As soon as these sides look like making a name for themselves, the corrupt body, the blind referees , snatch it away .
As long as your arsehole points to the ground, a country like Australia, will never , ever win this rigged tournament.
I am not saying that there is not some good soccer played, but that is over ruled by the foul smell of corruption permeating from within.

Have to say Anchor.Couldn't believe the amount of times the French Players fall over in absolute pain..Its a tactic to slow the game.

Mike I think our Ditch Manager is good. But I would of bought on the flag puncher when France scores the second goal.

The Poland - Senegal game really surprised me. Apparently Senegal only had 39% of the Ball possessions and less shots on goal for their 2-1 Win. I missed the last of the match. Poland looked flat from what I could see. Senegal are sitting pretty with Japan in their group on 3 points.
And the Russians are powering on. They scored goals at the 47, 59 & 62' marks.for the 3-1 Win over the Egyptians. Host nations always seem to play well.
Big game for the Aussies tomorrow. I think kick off at 8 or 9pm

The reason why the Aussies had to play Honduras for the last qualifying place in the tournament was that they were simply unable to convert their possession and dominance of a game into goals and we saw the same thing happen last night against Denmark. We really should have won that 2-1 or even 3- 1. They are now reliant on other results to progress and will more than likely bow out after the next game.

Yeah , its frustrating, numerous opportunities created last night, as one commentator stated that lack the quality to just finish, Rogic was a lot more up and about and a few others had the Danes worried, the Danish goalie was pretty good. Two handball incidents for 2 goals, in two games. Bit weird for mine not putting Cahill on for last 20 minutes or so.

Yes...due to the lack of quality strikers it's almost as though we're relying on penalties to win games and if that's the case we won't win too many. In saying that, Rogic and Mooy have been scoring at club level so not really sure what the answer is.

Yeah BC Rogic does well at Celtic , then again the SPL is a step away from World Cup football - he looked a threat a couple of times last night, but they were up against one of the best defence in the World Denmark hasn't conceded a field goal in 16 matches, Leckie I also thought busted his ring trying to get something going.

That's the problem for the Socceroos. They need France to defeat Denmark. The Aussies will need a Win against Peru. A draw will not be enough. Nabbout will probably take no further part after the dislocated shoulder in the match against the Danes.. Questions need answering as to why Cahill has not seen any game time, and he would need to be in the stating line-up against Peru. And if not, why not? The Socceroos definitely played better in relation to their first match which was pleasing. Having 12 shots on goal, whereas they had 6 shots in their opening match. One thing in Australia's favour being Peru currently remain scoreless. France and Denmark are 1 & 2 on the Group C table, with Australia 3 and Peru 4. Australia play Peru on Tuesday the 26th June in Sochi in a must Win game. And then hope France also Win their match Clear to partly cloudy and the expected overnight temperature of 21° is the forecasted weather come match time.

great posts everybody

The most important point I noticed in the competition so far is the fact that the Germans, for the first time in my life, have no word-class Centre-Forward -- goodie. England do so they will have a good chance overall.

I think the Russians will win it -- they just have to channel the magical powers of the ancient slavs, peter the Great and Stalin together, and they should be fine.
