Definitely. The ICC thought it was so bad they got a one test suspension.

No one disputes it was unaustralian but no other country even intervenes after ICC suspensions. Faf is still the captain after being done twice ffs.

ICC is a tootheless tiger, we all know that. Aussies had a culture ( disgusting) win at all costs for ages. This had brought the whole thing to a head. We are so far up ourselves we think we are untouchables. About time someone hit these spoilt millionaire brats with what they deserve

Unka2 the Australian cricket teams' behaviour for the past 20+ years has been appalling and the hypocrisy of S Waugh was breathtaking.

They are playing Test Cricket it is not a pleasant Sunday afternoon picnic/tea party at Kings Park for goodness sake!

This has got a long way to play out yet. Looks like the ACA are intervening to ask Cricket Australia to reconsider the harshness of the penalties handed down to the players. They are basically challenging the procedural fairness of CA's rather hasty invesigation. This is independent of whatever legal action that the banned players may take. An interesting comment from Dean Elgar this morning was that this current test was the most docile he has ever played in and his comment was that "nice guys come second"
The ABC show last night made the point that the culture of a cricket team is shaped from the very top of the organisation. Thats why I believe that the entire leadership of Cricket Australia needs to be refreshed in order for the culture of Australian cricket to change. Sutherland has been in that job for far too long and Pat Howard needs to go as well. They have presided over this team which has developed a win at all costs attitude and is universally hated by everyone in the cricket world. You can still be a competitive unsociable team on the field while at the same time showing some respect to your opponents.

Steve Smith must never be considered as captain ever again. When he approached Warner and Bancroft in the changerooms he said "what are you guys up to?" and "I don't want to know about it". So there was his first big failure as a captain. He should have said something like are you f"*cking kidding me? And at the end of the days play report it to Darren Lehman.

His second big blunder was dragging in the whole leadership group and going along with Cameron Bancrofts lie that it was tape not sandpaper. He failed as captain of the Australian cricket team on a big big scale.
Get on your bike.

Fair enough taking the captaincy of Smith but 12 months is a faakin joke, there's no precedent for that sanction, CA pandering to keyboard warriors on social media, this is the reason we are a laughing stock not because of ball tampering.

What's your answer to this PN?

I think you're confusing ball tampering with match fixing , any sort of betting comes under match fixing really clutching at straws with that example.

Maybe a better example is the female athlete (a rower I think) that copped a 2 year ban from memory for failing to show up for a drug test. Can't remember what it was but she had a pretty good explanation. Zero tolerance. She had a uni exam booked prior to being told of the drug test. They didn't accept it as an excuse.

It looks like it all going to get a lot uglier if the news reports have any credence. We may see a couple of players/management changing underwear on a regular basis!!
