I played a season of Sunday league there in the early seventies. The pitches were roped off during training but we played on them during games. I can also recall playing at Bassendean, Claremont, South Fremantle, Lathlain Park in the late sixties and the only problem with the pitches was that they got very boggy when it rained. I think only Leederville and East Fremantle didn’t have cricket pitches in those days.

The turf pitch at the northern end is a bowler's paradise when the tide is in. I remember taking 6/7 there one day as a young bloke bowling right arm medium pacers during a high tide as it gave the wicket a bit of pace and bounce....memories. ;-)

is that still there or artificial now? I should know I live not far away. :)
astro turf - remember I got a 100 on it a few years back - when the doctor had some south in it you'd be hitting them near over that fence mate
I made a century there as well...1 for 100 bowling my mediums pacers when the tide was out.
mmmm no latitude when that wind came up mate - they got hit and stayed hit and just kept going

Don't think EF Oval ever had a pitch , the oval was a relative new comer, cricket was played down on Preston Point Road. Leederville would of had one earlier.
