Great to see the waca upgrade going ahead and the ground going back to footy size

But in saying that I think Effc decision to play games up at the waca for 2 years is the most utterly bizarre decision I’ve ever seen, imagine playing derbies and esp the foundation day derby up in Perth , fair dinkum bonkers.

Bazza it does seem to be a very strange decision to choose the WACA over Freo Oval.

You could be right Bazza, they’ll do some dough on that showcase day.

Considering EF and SF ovals are are shit holes, be nice to have a change of venue for once for the derby.....might even bring a change of luck to one team as well.

Just wondering what happens if/when both Freo teams ovals are under redevelopment, what happens if they are at the same time or have a significant overlap? Where will they play?

Do they share the WACA???

The WACA was a great ground to play and watch footy at back in the late 1980s-90s.
Hopefully that continues on next season and beyond.

heard the Fremantle Oval ground will be done first then building works and that the ugly ex-FFC building may be utilised until everything is up to speed

Thanks Southerner, would think they will be able to get the ground re-aligned and resurfaced during the off season.
Need to find somewhere for pre-season though.

Absolutley ridiculous idea, whole beauty of the derby is its local. Massive amount of money would be lost.

Any dates on that, if that's the case where will we be playing?

I reckon North Freo would be a good option.
