heard the Fremantle Oval ground will be done first then building works and that the ugly ex-FFC building may be utilised until everything is up to speed
Any dates on that, if that's the case where will we be playing?

I reckon North Freo would be a good option.

I played at North Fremantle (Gil Fraser Reserve) a month or so back, very nice historic old ground/grandstand but it is not really up to WAFL footy these days tbh.

Good to hear you are still running around BH getting a kick of the footy mate.....I just assumed you did trouble the stats person that day mate?

Can't see why Bazza is so bemused with EF heading off to the WACA to play their home games....nicer venue then Shark Park, plenty of parking, not that far down Leach/ Canning/Mitchell freeway, parking, relatively close to a main train station.....yeah it ain't south of the river, but for only 9 matches a year, one match for opposition fans to go too....and would of thought the toilets and opposition change rooms are of a higher quality then Moss St.....win win for all I reckon

Apart from the ground dimensions increasing, what facilities will be present at the WACA during their ground development?  I presume the members' area at the WACA will remain exactly that.

Not sure why all of that would worry you 42?
Or are you intending to actually attend some games next year?

My view is that the WACA is an ideal venue for WAFL footy. It is central, facilities are good and if the East Fremantle temporary move there is a successful one, the WAFC will move to play more games there in future years.

It’ll be hard not going to Freo for the derby.  Still, we might poach a few supporters from Perth, Swans and EPerth….

It's ridiculous how many times they have realigned the grass from Cricket, to Footy and Cricket, back to Cricket and now back to Footy and cricket again. I have probably missed one there too.

I would love Perth to relocate there. Much more Salubrious surroundings. I much prefer going to Leederville and Fremantle oval than Lathlain. Even Basso has a nice Pub near by it to get a steak and beer.

Anyway its not going to happen but maybe East Perth could go there. It should be like the MCG. The WACA is well known world wide and having WAFL headquarters there and regular games there would be awesome.

Cricket WA should piss off with there hard ball - no finals to be played in September - we have 200 people wanting to watch a shield game - Model themselves on the MCG. Not hard on the body either as some said  Again just like the MCG
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

In what way surface? Its not that bad surely, comparable to a few current WAFL grounds if not better.

I agree with you on the WAFL, I would love to see one of the Perth teams based there permanently, Perth or East Perth would be ideal, as well as it becoming the new WAFL HQ for all finals, I just don;t think it makes much sense having a Fremantle team playing up there for a couple of years when far more local options are available, look at Claremont they did it ideally at the showgrounds.  You are talking about a lot of elderly local members who wont bother driving into the city for a WAFL game.

It certaintly wont be any further for you to travel coming to each game from NZ.

Hopefully some common sense prevails and the derbies are played at Fremantle Oval with profits split.
