heard the Fremantle Oval ground will be done first then building works and that the ugly ex-FFC building may be utilised until everything is up to speed
Any dates on that, if that's the case where will we be playing?

I reckon North Freo would be a good option.

I played at North Fremantle (Gil Fraser Reserve) a month or so back, very nice historic old ground/grandstand but it is not really up to WAFL footy these days tbh.
In what way surface? Its not that bad surely, comparable to a few current WAFL grounds if not better.
The surface was average but yes not much worse than Leederville in the middle of winter.
The main issues are parking (there is none to little), the narrow streets around it are a nightmare to navigate with a crowd of a few hundred let alone 1500-2000, unless you are travelling by boat or dont mind a walk from the train station forget about driving there.
Being situated right on the river and exposed to the elements in the outer it would be brutally cold in the middle of winter.
As I posted previously it is a nice old historic ground but not up to WAFL footy standard these days.

I guess the parking is a problem you are right about that, apart from that I think complaining about the cold by the river is pretty soft. The picturesque location makes up for that and its one of the few around with stand accommodation and a decent bar set up.

In saying that, the cricket pitch oval next door could easily be used for parking.

The turf pitch at the northern end is a bowler's paradise when the tide is in. I remember taking 6/7 there one day as a young bloke bowling right arm medium pacers during a high tide as it gave the wicket a bit of pace and bounce....memories. ;-)

I would imagine there would also be plenty of swing available when the doctor comes in after lunch BC?

astro turf - remember I got a 100 on it a few years back - when the doctor had some south in it you'd be hitting them near over that fence mate

probably should add there were two pitches - one on the footy field and then number two on the north end not far from where the goal posts are in footy season

Yep both are still there mate.
Can you imagine the WAFL clubs allowing let alone the afl listed blokes playing footy on a ground with artificial pitches on them these days?
Just wont happen!

not with sand covering the number 1 pitch which is centre of the footy field that's for sure mate - it would require some semi-serious works to get it ready enough

I made a century there as well...1 for 100 bowling my mediums pacers when the tide was out.
