Boekhurst is living with his Sister in Joondalup and is a good chance to pay with the Falcons.

Will be interesting to see if Boekhurst continues to live with his sister throughout 2018 then Leedy.....for me Boekhurst should return to his roots at SD....take up Pickerings challenge and continue SD revival after their spoon winning year in 2016.....though happy to do a Palmer - Boekhurst trade too.....

Anyone heard how the new coach is settling in? Very little news coming out of the club. Did hear a murmur from a western suburb club that we may have lost one of our inner sanctum to a ressies gig...anyone able to confirm?

From the club email sent to members today

The Swan Districts senior men’s team have kicked off the 2018 pre season training under new coach Adam Pickering. With a new coach and mentor come new idea’s and methods.

The ever present skill drills, touch sessions and running programs continue as normal. With a new element of concentrated strength training on Tuesday nights. With different pods and time allocations players complete their individual strength components, followed by a planned touch session.

To add to this the coaches are also covering off on education sessions centred around Swan Districts game style and ball movement. This teaching element has been well received by the playing group at this very early stage of preparations.

Also it has been great to see some highly talented young players re-enter the fray of WAFL League football. The opportunities that are available leading into this upcoming season will guarantee a very competitive pre season from all the players and coaches.

While the Football Department continue to scout for possible recruits the focus of the club continues to be to develop from within.

I think we have our answer there.... we're going with what we've got unless a recruit knocks on the door and asks to play. I assume Newman and Dean are the "highly talented young players re-entering the WAFL fray"

feeling inspired mikeh? A lot of experience left our ranks at end of 2017. Might be a tough 2018 me thinks.

No info offered re my mail that Armstrong has left to go coach at the Tiges...anyone able to confirm? Is Malaxos still around?

nobody signed yet must mean securing Boekhurst or anybody else's signature is harder than they may have thought.
new coach means a fresh start for everybody so will see how it unfolds, Crowley and Bennell are losses for sure, in our best 10 players last year when on the park.

It will be interesting where Adam Faulkner ends up mid-season.

Less than inspired DW. More because of the prospect of the same boring script being played out of Subiaco V alignments and nobody else getting a look in. But I admit I was a lot more excited this time last year when we had signed Ellard,Bennell,Pearce etc. We have to give the coach time to implement his strategy but I am hoping we are not setting ourselves for a repetition of 2016 here because every other club has been more active than Swans in improving their list.

Are you suggesting that the new coach may not be as tolerant of Adam's skill errors as Harding was Swan42?
