Just opening up a pre-season discussion as the Subiaco, Sharks,SF and Perth supporters have, looking at their teams prospects for 2018.
Precious little news coming out of Swans so far, understandable probably given Adam Pickering is still finding his feet as as the new coach. Not too much on the recruiting front as yet as we know that the AFL delisted players Davis and Armfield won't be coming back. Boekhurst would have to be some chance but he would be hopeful of being picked up by another AFL club. Hopefully a new coach might drag in a few other players to the club but otherwise we presumably have Clancee Pearce back from his ACL and that's about it at this stage?.
The teams that finished below us last year have been far more active than us in recruiting so the danger is that we could go backwards again next year which would be a pity after making so much progress in 2017.
Any other whispers that people have heard from the club?

Saw Clancee in the city last weekend, he is retiring.

Has Jamie Bennell really left to go to an amateur club in Melbourne? No Pearce, no JB. Not a good start.

Looks like the selection of Pickering as coach has done little to inspire players to the club or back to the club. Return to the days of open wallet recruiting or we will finish 8/9 next season dependent on if we can beat Perth or not. Hard to believe some of the realities and reason of things that have transpired at our club since mid 2017. Cover your eyes, cross your fingers, she'll be right fellas....the bus driver knows where he's taking us, right????

That's a bit depressing DW, surely there is time to get some more depth.to our squad. We need to give our new coach a chance to find his feet. If we are in the same situation in January, then I will start to worry.

Not Pickering’s doing mikeh...he can only work with what the club hands him...said it a couple of months ago...hope he walks in with his eyes wide open and sticks to his guns

I think your new coach may have an ego that tells him that he can do it with whoever rocks up to training. He will learn pretty quickly at your cost.
