jeez you bogans are self absorbed drama queens. I bet you lot were in a complete tiz in the early 80's when you played in 4 GF's and won 3 on the trot. I can guarantee there was no concern about the state of the comp back then and if you were in Subi's position today you'd be carping and crowing about your success and telling others to get better...give me strength.

Probably because the comp in the early 80s was at its zenith peak BC you fool....the competition at current is on deaths door and your mob has been at the heart of it with the constant recruiting from weaker WAFL sides thus diluting their talent and increasing your own all off the back of the seats deal from the taxpayer funded Domain Stadium...do you comprehend?!
Soon it will just be your mob and the 2 aligned sides (that constantly beat you in GF's) left in the comp until your mobs funds also finally run out trying to keep up with them and you will join us G6 teams in a A1 Grade WAAFL comp!

I did have a look at the Swans Senior players list on the SDFC website the other day. I assumed it had been brought up to date as Ames and Crowley were missing (but Pearce and Bennell were still listed). Chris Yarran was still on the list so hopefully he may be OK to do a pre-season. There were a few other interesting names at the bottom of the list, Murray Newman, Alby Dean and Sean Fletcher who have all come and gone from the club. Wonder if any of them are a chance of suiting up in 2018?

I'm going to go out on a limb here mikeh and say to expect none of those names to suit up for SD in 2018.

To clarify DW are you saying that Ellard won't be playing next season?

Oops missed Ellard...assume he will play

Update: Newman & Dean have been seen on the track from that list...whether they will stick around to play is not clear.

Hey DW...why was it that Newman didn't play in the season just finished? Was it a mental health issue or was he injured? I'm not trying to be smart arse here I just don't recall why he walked away from the game as he would be a big in for you blokes if he sticks with it.

My memory was that it was off field issues BC. Think he may have started training last year but left the club fairly early in the piece. Maybe he is coming back to see how he will go with a new coach. I always thought that his relationship with Harding would have been strained as a result of him walking out of a game at quarter time at Claremont Oval in 2013, so maybe he would consider that he will start with a clean slate as far as Pickering is concerned. Alby Dean could also be in that boat as I always thought that he never really got a fair go from Harding and seemed to be the one dropped when Swans played poorly.
Both will be great for us if they can get through the pre season.

Mike - Newman played the first game of 2016 and then took off, this was after Harding made the silly statement that he would be better for Swans than Ryan Davis had been.
was talking about going to Kal last year but not sure if that happened.

Thats right Mark, I remember that. It wasn't one of Harding's finest moments for sure especially when you consider what transpired in 2016......
