42....what say you about Pearce defection to country footy....very surprised considering he hated playing for Peel due to his undying love for the SDFC......pretty disappointing for you SD fans....but more importantly WAFL footy.....need his quality playing in the WAFL comp not some other comp.

To be honest why would ex AFL players want to play in a 3rd rate competition like the WAFL which is treated with such disdain by the AFL and the WAFC. What would Clancee have to achieve if he came back to Swans next year in a team which has no prospect of challenging for a flag any time soon?. I don't blame him for finding country footy more attractive.

Yep Mike with 2 aligned sides and $ubi making a complete and utter mockery of the comp no wonder most have given up!

How can you call the WAFL a third rate comp when we've beaten all comers at state level? Surely we're the premier state league comp in the nation if results over the last couple of years are anything to go by. Try telling the players who slug out preseason, three nights of training, home and away games, recovery and game analysis sessions they're third rate.

Its 3rd rate because of
1. The dwindling crowds/atmosphere and public interest in the competition
2. The complete predictability of the competition as to results of games and the gap between the best teams and the worst who are pretty much the same every year.
Yes there are some very good players in the WAFL competition and the State team has played well over the past few years. However you would have to question whether the teams they have come up against have been full strength. In particular the VFL team they beat last season had a lot of experienced players missing and was basically a team of kids really.

Mike... you can only beat what is put in front of you but in my opinion the results speak for themselves. It was no coincidence Matt Priddis didn't want to drop back to Subi as he was not prepared to commit the time to training 3 nights a week, playing, recovery sessions and all the rest that goes with it. That to me doesn't sound like a third rate comp when a Brownlow medallist thinks it's too big a commitment to play WAFL.

BC the reality is that if you had a poll of who will make the 5 next season the clubs that will be mentioned without hesitation would be Subiaco, the two host clubs and South Freo. That leaves one sport for the other 5 clubs.

The end is nigh.

Claremont will improve, possibly WP..the rest of us are cactus with EF best of the rest. Do not have high expectations for season 2018 Swan42 although am expecting big things from our colts side.
