Well done Kirky loved it

Dw who did you think our best were? I thought Gault and Banfield were outstanding when the game needed to be won.

Gault had a terrific game. Ellard was tireless in the clinches and Banners for sure. In that order for mine. Bennell had a couple of important efforts in the final qtr were his talent one out resulted in goals up forward. Would love to know the count on the amount of times Ellard either tacked and tied the ball up or was tackled tying it up in the clinches. Doesn't show on the stats but I'd suggest huge numbers. Good to see a couple of flashes of absolute brilliance from Taryce during the game. Let's hope he can regain his best form in coming weeks.

Dont forget Kirky as well DW who did some absolute quality work in the clinches down back, Howie & Tonys steadiness down there as well whilst Ricky did a lot of the one percenters that got us over the line which was pleasing to see when things were not going our way early in the game.
Hopefully Riggs & Coniglio are ok and not too badly injured.

Finally I reckon I might have joined you in the one nut club DW sheesh it was cold out there today! :pinch:

Cold it was BH...spent a lot of the day watching Kirky ...he would round off my best 4 ...as I said his battle with those 2 perth fellas was gold all day. Some of the looks after solid contact between them was awesome...a battle within the battle...brilliant stuff

Kudos must go to the newly layed Lathlain Park surface which held up remarkably well considering the amount of rain that fell in the last 24 hours

Anyone know what Alex Howard got reported for?

On the game thought Slater put in a decent performance and also Mackenzie was pretty solid down back. ..Nuich named as our best on the WAFL site surprised me. Gault 51 HO and 20+ had a lot more of it. Did I miss something here??

Just managed to thaw myself out. Coldest day at the footy for a long time. Swans really got out of jail today, Perth were all over us like a rash for the first quarter and a half and we were 33 points down at one stage in the 2nd quarter. I thought we were looking down the barrel especially since we had lost Riggio and Perth had also wasted a few opportunities. The Demons could have been 8 goals up if they had kicked straight. The simple fact was that Perth came to play and Swans didn't so we found ourselves in the position of having to play catch up footy.

Credit to the Demons who really gave it a crack today and but for a lapse in the 3rd quarter which let us back into the game, they would have got across the line. They were still pressurising Swans in the last 5 minutes of the game but just lacked the finesse and finishing skills of a Ricky Cary or Jamie Bennell.

Our big guys were very good today, particularly Gault who I thought had his best game of 2017. Howard did a lot of good things ( apparently was reported though, did anyone see the incident?) Ugle was very steady, Faulkner was excellent in conditions that were tailor made for him. Ellard and Crowley added grunt to the midfield. Stewart showed a bit of magic at times and I thought Jesse Manton was prominent and added value to the team.

Perth were gallant and they certainly had as much, if not more supply from their midfield into the forward line. They found it tough to get space in their forward line after the first quarter against our very well organised defence, they only kicked 4-7 in the last 3 quarters. Perth have a good one there in number 14 Corey Byrne. He has a lot of footy smarts. Jones was prolific as usual, I also liked Narrier (25) who looks a talented player.

Overall we were lucky to walk out of there with the 4 points and it was a better day given two of our main finals rivals lost. It was a gutsy effort by the players to get back into it with two players down in the 2nd half.

Swans will need to work on getting a faster start as we won't always be able to get back into games like we did today. Pleasing that Swans won all three grades today and I assume there will be a few spots opened up in the league next week as Riggio and Coniglio would be out you would imagine. Coniglio's in particular looked bad and he may be out for a while.

What an oversight, I forgot Banners in my initial post. He is so important to Swans with his pace and creativity with the ball but also his manic chasing and tackling efforts. He was also amongst our best today as he has been in most games this season.
