Finally the season proper is here and we can get stuck into watching some serious footy! The only sour note is that it's at the worst ground in the WAFL! Saturday looks like it could be a steamer with a possible thunderstorm and a top of 28 at this stage.

Big day for the boys who will want to do Simmo proud in his 150th and I'm sure there'll also be some emotion around Kirk Ugle after the death of his mother last week.

We should go in at near full strength and while it may only be round 1,if Swans want to be contending for finals this year then they need to be beating teams like the Sharks at every opportunity!

Our strength is clearly our back lines ability to defend and then set up scoring opportunities from there while the Sharks strength will be the Midfield with Mcnamara and Anthony needing to be curtailed as will Hampson up foward. Limiting the influence of those 3 will go a long way towards winning the game.

For us im looking foward to seeing Jetta and Newman back in the black and white and both have apparently been flying in pre season. The young kid Clarke could also get an opportunity after a strong pre season and he's my early tip to get drafted at seasons end.

Thanks for that Mad Dog. I am still on holiday in New Zealand and won't be back in time for this game so would appreciate it if you or any Swans fan who will be there could do a summary of the match. Thanks in advance. BTW New Zealand is a lovely country. Scenery is spectacular in the South Island. The only sport you get on telly is the rugby though so can understand Freezin's frustrations now!

Interesting weather predicted for Saturdays game, with no sheds at either end of Shark Park now kicking with the breeze in the last qtr could be vital.

I am surprised the footy people in today's paper have Swans so low in their predictions. I think they are the "sleeper" in the field. I'll be getting on them at the TAB at 13's for sure. I think they will go top three and honestly think they can win the premiership.

Hopefully the winds are strong enough to blow their clubrooms away too so we don't have to go to Condemned Park again :P

I would take zero notice of any predictions these so called experts give

from all reports I hear the EF visitors change room is made out of straw......perhaps those strong winds can blow a few black ducks further south past Mandurah or preferably west into the Indian Ocean past Rotto when the wind blows .....though I have no doubt the greenies will oppose the latter, due to environmental contamination concerns for the local sea life.... fingers crossed tho eh? ;) ....

Probably more appropriate for when we play WART freeze seeing as tho they have a big bad Wulff unless of course he is another one to abandon ship due to the alignment!!
