My observations were more opinions from before the game. Think there were some bad selections but clearly several underperformed.

Need to regroup very quickly! Blakers knees is a tragedy!

Given that it was Simmo's 150, a player who well and truely puts his heart and soul into giving 100% effot into his playing, today's lack of effort and heart was very dissapointing.

Poor skills, could not kick or take easy marks tackling poor and the lack of pressure on the ball was absurd. Too often it looked like an East Freo training session as they had guys open and uncovered all day. They'd get the ball and have all day to make a decision and move it. We get the ball and got pressured often immeadiately. We looked unprepared to play, and unmotivated to play and that was the let down.

We were out hustled, out worked and out coached. Given the poor effort by many I was disappointed with the seemingly jovial nature Harding was showing at 1/4 and 3/4 huddles. He's certainly given more fire and brimstone spraying with better effort given.

Some of the guys in the league could use an early message of put in the effort or off the bus. Hard to single guys out as just a shocking effort, and I know the ball did not make it forward too often but for all intent and purpose Cary was all but invisiable and for a big body I thought Ansey got pushed around a bit more than he should.

Tip of the hat to East Freo, guys were much too good today. Well played and well earned win.

How come Rudy Riddoch seems to be in an out of the team a lot. Did play 15 league games last year but also played 9 ressies.

Rudy has a few fitness issues, should be back in league soon hopefully.

A good start to the day with the Colts & Ressies both having good wins but you knew the day was going to go pear shaped when club favourite son Simmo's banner was accidently left at the club and then to lose our No.1 ruckman in Doc Blakely at the very 1st bounce for the rest of the season was pretty devastating. Fletcher also gone early with suspected broken ribs and Nuich later in the game unable to go back on summed up a pretty ordinary day for the League side where the lack of desperation and the poor skill level were not up to League standard. Riddoch, Howard, Burnham, Dean, Whitsed, Coniglio & Wityk should be certainties back in next week if we are fair dinkum at the selection table!

Gday fellas...couldn't get down today due to work. Disappointing result and by all reports very lacklustre effort. Losing Doc is a nightmare. IMO our most important player as we have no one else capable of competing at his level on a weekly basis for an entire season. Hope they aren't thinking of destroying Blighty's body in the ruck again like a couple of seasons back. That would be foolish and short sighted. Farrrrrrk...I'm resigned to not making finals already such is Docs importance to the team. Devastating for him personally so can only send him best wishes for a complete and successful recovery. No footballer deserves being cruelled by injury et alone at the first bounce...poor bugger

I noticed a few boys missing today. Daniels and Anderson were not even in the budget.
