We were lucky that the breeze abated in the early part of the last quarter which enabled us to set up a 2 and a half goal lead and then hang on for dear life at the end! Keeps us in the hunt. The loss won't have any negative impact on Subiaco at all, in fact it may get them focussed towards the finals. Hopefully Broady's injury isn't as bad as it looked.

You were lucky in a lot of ways today mike but winners are grinners. Good job.

Against a strong last qtr breeze, playing league leaders Subi.Desperate last 15 minutes forcing stoppage after stoppage.Well done ducks.
Really excited by the WP v SD match up north next week. These sides have played two fantastic games in 15.Good,test for Swans.I rate the Cardies as a serious premiership contender.

Great to win all 3 grades with our own home grown talent who play for the mighty black & white jumper! :)
Special mention to both Davo who layed an incredible 20 tackles & JD who applied 18 tackles in the earlier game ..great stuff fellas and inspiring to their team mates.

My observations from yesterday"s game on a shit house day to watch footy let alone play the game.

Some times players do listen to the coach. The last quarter the team did exactly as Greg asked and we got the result....just!!!

Adam Faulkner had his best day of disposal in weeks on a day when you could forgive anyone for missing targets....go figure :silly:

Best game I've seen Swoop play in a couple of years. Aggressive all day and came at the footy which is where he is at his best.

Thank you Doc Blakely. Huge effort all day. Along with Davis and Riggio I tip my hats to you 3 for the work load you displayed through the guts and around the ground.

Subiaco are a very very good football team.

Whilst yesterday was Antartic most of the day at no stage did I feel as cold and at risk of losing my gonads like in the stand at Leederville. To the small crowd from both clubs that braved the trying conditions well played. Only the truly hard core could have endured in the can bar yesterday...I wasn't one of them

Young Alby Dean's handball ability in tight is a pleasure to watch.

Apologies to the 2 seagulls if they took my advice. Whilst still substantial in serve size compared to the Showgrounds rort i found the chips at the canteen yesterday to be undercooked and lacking in comparison to previous weeks. On a day when a hot chip would be more appreciated than ever this was most disappointing.

Does anyone know what happened to Broady? Off on the stretcher late in the game but why??

Watching from the warmth of the Presidents lounge were you DW?

That was as cold a game I've attended and the can bar was symptomatic of a wind tunnel!

I gave the boys little chance at 3/4 time but what a win!!! We were due to be on the right side of the ledger in a close one and your right DW those in an under hands from Alby were sublime! A putty we didn't have him instead a McKay last week! Makes a big difference when you get 1st hands.

On Broady,I think he was KO'd. Will be a huge loss of can't play next week!

Firstly well done to the Ducks they really wanted the game more than us, had something to play for and played accordingly, could have gone either way in the end but luck favoured the brave I guess, pretty even team performance from your boys and you were able to convert your chances better than us.

DW We started under the shelter at the western end but all the action was at the other end so we moved to the wing at qtr time an braved the elements, that hail storm in the second qtr was something else but really enjoyed the contest all day. Mate we were in front of the burger van so had some nice hot chips n gravy to see us through.

As I said fortune favoured you a bit when that howling gale all but disappeared in the last qtr and you jumped us early to get what was a winning lead. You then shut the game down for the last 10 mins, ugly but effective and we couldn't convert the 2 or 3 chances we created, any of which would have changed the result. Was puzzled that we didn't throw in a 3rd man up at those late contests to clear the scrum and create some chaos ball. Also I thought we were very undisciplined with some careless overcooked tackles which gave away a few 50's and at least 3 goals, no excuse for that rubbish and Schoey would have been furious.

Perfect weekend for you guys with the Tiges going down so at least now it's all in your own hands.

SS the first 10 mins of the 3rd qtr when we had the breeze also saw it dissipate as I made comment to SD just our bloody luck when we had it it goes away but no mention of that I see? ;) Bizarre how it was hurricane like all day bar for the first 10mins in the 3rd & 4th qtrs  but each side cant complain as it was levelled out!

BH it was very strange weather usually once the breeze is in it's consistent but as you say in the end pretty much levelled out, we had our chances and didn't take them, where as your boys did. Would have been a good night in the club especially after hearing that the Tiges lost.

Full credit to you as one of only a couple of $ubi supporters who did in braving the outer conditions (Pommy Charlie was another and he was as dark as Kamahl at the final result) as it was as cold as your mother in laws shoulder out there as I can also vouch for :pinch: hardy lot us WAFL fans I tell ya!

P.S- send our regards to Outer ..his complete lack of likes this week has not gone unnoticed either!!
