Great to see Simmo back for probably the most important game of the season. Probably getting close to our best 22 who will run out on Saturday so no excuses

Murray, Grescos and Wilson are listed as the outs DW, although the last two are not in the ressies so must be injured. Howard is back as well which is more good news. As usual its a 25 man squad at this stage so 3 still to drop out.

Might bring a paintball gun and take him out!!..One consolation I suppose he is a WAFL stalwart and brings his disabled son along too, thats dedication and to be admired..just hope he has a sore throat this week!

Pretty sure with the current conditions that we won't see both Houghton and Nuich in the same team. We can't afford to be top heavy like we were against Subi in similar conditions. Houghton goes through the ruck too whereas Nuich has been playing as just a foward in ressies and is being groomed to replace Geapen. Of the other bench players listed you'd think if Simmo was named he'd play. Of the others, the conditions would suit Banfield although he didn't go back and have a blinder in the 2's last week. That leaves 1 spot for either of Kirkup(been playing fwd in 2's) and the 2 midgets in Coniglio and McKay. I suspect it will be one of the small blokes.

Just back from the Showgrounds, pretty shattered with todays result particularly with the season on the line. You cannot switch off for 15 minutes in a game and cough up a 32 point lead to the opposition and then expect to come back and win. To their credit Swans did come back and hit the front in the last quarter, but the effort took its toll and we faded. Swans played like a disorganised rabble for the first 15 minutes of the 3rd quarter and it was just catch up from there on in. It is these switch off periods in games that will ultimately cost Swans a place in the finals.

There are 4 or 5 players in the team who took on far too much of the load today and there were too many passengers for a game that was just about an elimination final.
We now face the prospect of having to knock off Subiaco next week just to stay alive and they would have to play a whole lot better than today to even make it a contest.

I think there will be 3 or 4 changes next week to reward some of the boys who are playing consistently in reserves.

What was going on after half time FFS? Swans didn't get onto the ground till the 2 minute siren and they were rushed in their preparations whereas Claremont had gone through their whole routine. Whether this had any impact on the poor start to the 3rd quarter is anyone's guess

More thoughts on the game when I have calmed down a bit........ rant over

You're a good chance of knocking us off next week in a game where we will just be trying not to get injured before finals. Training run were the result is irrelevant.
