OK its not as good as rumble in the jungle, but the headline reflects the importance of this game to both clubs. The way I see it, Subiaco, West Perth and Peel have already won enough games to qualify for the top 5 and now that East Perth seem to be winning again they are going to be very hard to tip out. So that leaves Swans, Claremont and South Fremantle fighting for the last spot and this game at the Showgrounds will be pivotal to the eventual season outcome for these two teams.

As far as the ladder is concerned the Tigers are one game behind Swans however Claremont have a game in hand and the percentages of the two teams are virtually identical. One team is going to take a big advantage over the other on Saturday and although it will not necessarily put the loser out of business, it will be catch up from then on for that side.

The game at Mt Barker early in the season was won by 9 points by Claremont and I expect another close game again. An interesting statistic is that 10 out of Swans 16 games this year have been decided by margins of less than 3 goals ( 5 wins and 5 losses)

Forecast looks like showers clearing in the afternoon at this stage, although there is a fair bit of rain forecast for the rest of this week so we may end up with a cow paddock.

Mike,

Massive game it is mate, they will be unlikely to have Seaby, Bradley and another hackman that was carving us up last week, I reckon Swans by (you guessed it) -6 points !!!

Wilson has broke his leg (gonsky), if the others play it will be a tough slog. Slog may be the operative word as heavy rain is expected, Swans will be better in the wet I reckon.

Wonder if we can redirect that rain over to UK? Edgbaston particularly?

Unless of course torrential rain will drown out the sounds spewing forth out of the microphone at the Showgrounds.

Huge game this week lads. I'm bloody nervous already. Whilst Claremont have been kind to us in the GF's against us in recent times they've also done some serious damage over the years to us in ruining our finals prospects. This is must win game when you look at our draw over the final few rounds. What a season we are having with the ebbs and flows and closeness of the ladder. It's all there to play for and by geez am I looking forward to the WAFL over the next few weekends. Love your WAFL footy....it's bloody priceless
