Well actually mate , there are hordes of both Swans & WCE long-time supporters in that part of Bunbury in particular - it will still attract a good crowd given there hasn't been a WAFL game there for a while

Hopefully some of the Basso regulars will take the trek down the new freeway - it's a piece of piss to get there nowadays

Southerner I believe Swans may be trying to organise a bus down to Bunbury for anyone who may be interested in going down to Bunbury.

Further to our discussion vis a vis the financial implications of playing the game in Bunbury see below part of the email from our CEO, Tom Bottrell, to members and supporters:

Saturday 9th August v East Perth. This game is being played at Hands Oval in Bunbury at normal start time of 2.05pm and will be broadcast by 720 ABC radio. For those travelling down on the Friday you are welcome to attend the South West Supporters Club function at Hands Oval from 7pm. Past players and supporters from the Bunbury region will be in attendance.

NB: There has been correspondence from some members & supporters questioning why we have agreed to play this game in Bunbury. Rest assured we would not have agreed to move this game if we weren’t receiving a guaranteed dollar amount to make it viable which is the case here. Every club has an obligation to play in their country zone once every three seasons and we have had great success out of the Bunbury region.

Not too hard to work out why they picked the wrong game is it (well easy for some I guess). Do you pick the opponent where you will get a huge crowd or the opponent you will get a below average crowd?

So Barney do you often speak in the third person when referring to yourself? One can only assume from your comments above that your source was your third person self.

By the way please refer to my posting of a part of an email sent out today from Swans' CEO re the financial implications of the game played in Bunbury. Should one believe your comments or the contents of Tom Bottrell's email. So that there is no misunderstanding there was no ulterior motive in only copying only part of the email. The rest of the email was not relevant to the game to be played in Bunbury or the re-scheduling of this week's colts' match against Claremont. For the record it included notification of our quiz night on August 28th.

Will us members who have bought season ticket packages in good faith receive a discount next year as compensation for being mislead in to believing we could attend 10 home games with our season pass??? The first year I've purchased season tickets and will be the last unless I get a bloody good explanation as to why we've been ripped off!!!!!

Not defending this issue but your members entry can be used for multiple entries at any game.

Eg. If you can't attend a game for any reason you can use your pass to get someone else in to another home game.

Another little known fact is that if you arrive at any ground before quarter time of the Colts game with any Club members pass you get in for free.

Funny that Grassroots....I attempted to use my season pass earlier in the season to gain entry for my father as well as myself and was refused. Thanks for the info tho....will attempt to utilise this option at the next home game

Ground Admission Card clearly reads "Card can be redeemed in multiple use at any SDFC home game in 2014".

If played at Basso i reckon 6000 would turn up. Hands Oval is good for footy though

a WART victory would be good for Subi's top 2 chances but I just can't bring myself to barrack for an aligned club...in saying that I hope you both kill each other and the umpies run out of space in their report books whatever the result.
