Wrong again Astro. You can't name the player because there is no player. If you named a played you would be defaming that player.

You MUST be CLOWNSEND.

Travis casserley is the player swan 42, what are you talking about saying thereis no player? I'm not calling sour grapes, you blokes won that epic game fair and square, but what do you mean by there is no player?

No Swans player and I repeat no Swans player was involved in taking an illegal substance in the 2010 GF. That is the incontrovertible and unambiguuous fact.

Swan what Casserly did with over the counter drugs was reckless and dangerous and should be treated the same as a player taking speed or cocaine. By arguing over a technically you are just making a fool out of yourself.

TOG "By arguing over a technically (sic) you are just making a fool out of yourself" is germaine to the whole discussion. Under a certain limit there is no sanction. Further TOG what exactly did Cass do and the pharmacological affects are what compared to and I quote "speed or cocaine"?

so 42 are you saying Casserley got suspended for doing/taking nothing then?......surely he didn't get suspended for simply being a SD football player?.......geez if that was the case then no wonder why you are so pissed off mate......

by the way who told you no SD player took an illegal substance on the 2010 GF day?.....was it your CEO?

......true what Cass took might not of been illegal on the streets...but within the sporting world, the potency level he took, is deemed an illegal substance.....thus his rightly returned guilty verdict and suspension.....

as for it's comparison to cocaine or speed?....pretty sure what Cass was found guilty for taking, had elevated stimulant properties....just like what the other two substances seagull mentioned are deemed to possess...... so mate, if you want to question and argue the real meaning of what's illegal and legal in terms of what Cass ingested...... surely gull man and others have the right to question and argue what drugs are classed a stimulant, no matter there level of potency??

Funny how a couple of Claremont players almost keeled over and died after taking illegal substances post the 2010 GF, but nicely swept under the carpet
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

Loading up on Sudafed is absolutely rife in amateur footy where drug tests are non existent although hardly compares with the abuse of caffeine at AFL level during the naughtees which also led to much sleeping tablet abuse amongst our favourite sons. No worse than players playing with the aid of painkillers to get them through in my books. Highly debatable whether any of it is performance enhancing. I'm yet to see anyone play better under the game day influence of legal and or illegal drugs (out of season steroid use for muscle gain excluded), they tend to have a way of coming back to bite the user/abuser on the buttocks, especially in the 2nd half. Players who do partake thinking it will improve their game are very short sighted. The only thing I ever found to be effective was to drop a couple of pre game vicks vapodrops in the mouth to clear up the nasal passages. Learning to breath properly is the best performance enhancer I ever came across. Oxygen is the key

yeah at least those Cl boys had the "sense" to take their meds after the game and not before ....eh Swandog?.......can't blame them really for taking a "little pick me up" to ease the depression, after such a gutting loss!!....a GF loss too!! ......

yeah always a grey area painkillers, steroid jabs etc DW......especially steroid injections, since they allow short term pain free ROM for an injured joint....without it the player wouldn't even be able to lift their arm, bend aknee etc and play to a competitive level.....surely that constitutes as being performance enhancing???......lack of consistency is the problem and I can see where 42 is coming from.....but doesn't mean one should bury their head in the sand and deny it didn't happen though?

Frezin thanks for the support. I will point out I have not denied that Cass was suspended. In point of fact I stated that his suspension was 18 months more than anyone else for the same offence. What I am challenging some is to give the pharmacological benefits of speed and cocaine and how that compares with the legal drug that Cass took. Also, it needs to be pointed out that an elevated level does not make the substance illegal per se.

Why do you think you have to hand over your DL at the chemist to buy sudafed. And chemists get robbed for any product with pseudo in it. Its used to make Meth or Speed or both
