Clear explanation by Todd Shimmon of the sequence of events regarding Valentine’s appointment and where to from here over the next few weeks. Pleasing to note that he said that there were 46 applicants for the Football Manager’s position and that interviews were progressing.

Hopefully as Shimmon says "things" happen for a reason and EF find a suitable candidate....time will tell I guess.....pretty obvious Valentine's reasons from that interview with Shimmon......can't look back just gotta move forward....

I heard a rumour that Valentine was told Andrew Lockyer was likely to get the FM role after accepting the position and he wasn't comfortable with that. Apparently there is a bit of history between the two, Im not 100% certain but I think the roles were flipped when Lockyer was at WP.

Considering Shimmon said in that interview that he was still interviewing FM applicants this week....not sure how on the money that rumour is mate.....got no probs Valentine taking the better money....just say so come end of the day.

It wasn't the FM position that Lockyer was suppose to have, it was as Director of Coaching. Thats why Jacob asked about that type of set up.

whatever job they give Lockyer they better have a back-up plan - never lasts too long anywhere.

Lockyer was never going to be offered director of coaching . His son is at Subiaco. Valentine had a one night stand with the cllub, and now walks away smirking.... karma will come mr Valentine . You WONT get the West Perth job,, and Guilford G have knocked you down a peg. The longer the club waits to appoint a coach, the worse it gets. There is still a guy waiting who should have been appointed. Get it done so we can move on to next weeks news - player clean out . JM , GH, CE

Not even sure how a bloke who can’t get his school football program to be competitive is offered a WAFL head coaching role?!
