I think the phrase "at half way" is the detail your overlooking Swan42. Now why this fact made it to the media stream I can't answer. We're all clubs subjected to such a pulse check during the season I can't answer either. But just like a football match you can be in front at half time and still just go under at the final bell. Can you please find a quote of mine that states Swans breached the Salary cap, did anything against the rules or spirit of the competition. Or should be sanctioned.

WAFL clubs are furious at a WA Football Commission leak that has seen all official payments to league players this season disclosed to every other club.

And it is understood the payments show that at least one top-four club is on track to exceed the salary cap this year and may be forced to drop players to avoid a substantial breach.

This is the exact quote as it appeared in the West Australian. If you don't like the wording of "ahead of the cap at half way" perhaps on track to exceed the salary cap is easier on your ears.

The Salary Cap is the Salary Cap. There is no pro rata. You either have breached the Salary Cap or you haven't. The "at half way: is at best a non sequitur; at worse superfluous or meaningless. It does nothing to alter the meaning of the sentence. You are either being obtuse, obdurate or simple base by not accepting the meaning of what you have said. I am at a loss to think that you are now reneging on your offer.

As for your revisionist approach to completely alter the meaning of your original comment demonstrates a dexterity which neither a ballet dancer nor a gymnast could attain.

My offer is iron clad, as soon as you demonstrate the instance I alleged Swans had breached the Salary cap and should be sanctioned. To be be ahead of budget on salary or on track to go over the salary cap is not an offence. Swans reasons sound fishy I would agree but at no stage did I suggest they breached. The fact that the WAFC had concerns is not really my fault.

Fundamentally LB is being particularly disingenuous and is unwilling to accept that what he is now trying to say he said is not what he said. As a consequence Telethon and St Vinnies are $500 the poorer.

It should always be an advantage last set; ads to the drama and pathos. With LB there is a lot of pathos.
