Paul Yovich is representing him, he will make a big earn on it , but don't forget its all at Legal Aid rates as its funded by you and me.

The entire thing will come at a huge expense to the tax payer, having s SCJ sitting for weeks on end and associated staff, at least there is no jury to feed and water.

The most they can give him is life no release, and he cannot get more for 3 x murders - so they roll the dice, an argument there for brining back the noose, at least that would be a prod in the backside to get a PG and a Life Sentence rather than Death.

Interesting Yovich wrapped up the defence case without calling any rebuttal witnesses on the DNA evidence or anything else. Just closing addresses now in a couple of weeks. That's a huge surprise...either he's comfortable the prosecution hasn't proved its case beyond reasonable doubt or he's putting the cue back in the rack.

Guilty, Guilty, Not Guilty.

Given Sarah Spiers body has never been found and no eye witness accounts that she hopped into a vehicle fitting the description others have seen Ciara Glennon get into probably made it hard for Justice Hall to find a guilty verdict.

There were only people who said they heard screams from a street in Mosman Park but no eye witness accounts of a car.

Gee Justice Hall didn't muck around did he? You would hope Edwards grows a conscience and tells them where he dumped her body but it's more likely he will appeal the guilty verdicts. Scum bag of the highest order.

At least they finally caught the bastard, something I think most of us thought would never happen. Thanks to advances in DNA detection and the work police do to keep exhibits and their tireless work and commitment it finally paid off.

We give the coppers a whack from time to time but they deserve praise on this one. Must be a relief for the Glennon and Rimmer families but really feel for the Spiers family.

Well summed up DD. Heard on the reports that the WA taxpayer via the public defender funded his defence to the tune of $3mill+++. Dont have a problem with that as everyone deserves a fair trial and your innocent until proven guilty, but not happy to fund his appeal if that happens, as it's the reverse where he's guilty trying to prove his innocence.

Expected Conclusion.

Sad for the Spiers family, but just there was never enought there to tilt the scale.

RIP Lance Williams.

To me the legal aid system is outrageous, the bloke has a house , he should of had to sell it and fund the defence himself, and we certainly should not of been paying for the luxury of a senior counsel...who has just paid off his house in Dalkieth.

His (Edwards) house in Kewdale would be the most unremarkable house in Kewdale so not worth a great deal in today’s market so would only cover a tiny fraction of what’s its cost us. But the state will be entitled to take possession to recover whatever it’s worth.

Same with the house of that lunatic who wiped out his entire family (wife, 3 young girls and his mother in-law) in Morley (or Bayswater). I grew up around the corner of that house and it was known as Morley then. That house prior to the killings would of been worth north of 600k. Not sure who would want to live in a house where 3 innocent young girls were murdered by their father so it’s probably just worth block value now.

I doubt he will ever be found guilty due to insanity but will spend the rest of his life in the nut house.
