I didn't think it was possible to there was a body worse than the WAFC. However, what the ARU have done today in axing the Western Force proves that they are indeed worse than the WAFC. And as for the CEO's that the decision will grow the game is a ridiculous decision.

A body that is financially challenged is now facing a very expensive Supreme Court battle with someone who has far deeper pockets than they do and when they lose will be forced to pay costs as well.

agree 42...its an absolute travesty that the second best side in the Australian conference this year gets the chop whilst Melbourne finishes last and survives. it's another example of the east coast centric sporting bodies we have including the AFL and Cricket Australia.

Absolutely no West Australians should EVER go to another Rugby Union test match in WA.

Unfortunate they seemed to be getting their act together but Australian rugby is at a low ebb at the moment and they have obviously decided to cut the Perth outpost in order to strengthen the other Australian teams. It will matter not a trice though as we will continue to be reamed by the All Blacks England and other countries . I feel sorry for all the loyal Force supporters who have stuck with the team. The ARU may have shot themselves in the foot though as there appears to be more of a strong Rugby group here than Melbourne with the expatriate South African , Irish and other European communities.

It's not just Rugby Union - another example is some wanker in the Eastern States decided there had to be another Netball Competition , ergo the almost total decimation of the Fever all to the ES

This reminds me another thing that I was pissed off with, and I meant to start a separate thread on this which was the announcement by the NBL about a week ago that 3 teams would be going to the US in the preseason to play games against NBA teams. These teams were Melbourne, Sydney Kings and Brisbane Bullets!!!
Apart from the fact that two of these teams were up to recently non existent because of financial difficulties, what about the most successful basketball/sporting team in Australian history (The Perth Wildcats). Were they not worthy of a place on that plane? 30 finals series in a row not good enough? What a joke.

good -- this is an australian rules state; goodness, even the majority of the people in NSW and QLD hate the sport.

That is directly related to the virtual destruction of their state leagues
