bazza: they are rubbish; they could equally play in red white and blue. I will grant that the soccer team sometimes plays in a dark green/blue shirt which I like.

The cricketers only wear green because, in the past, the eastern staters argued over the shade of blue to wear in test matches -- even the South Australians had a blue cap well into the 1960s. I

yes, mate I know -- I watched the soccer game tonight; Bob Hawke made it official apparently, but Joe Darling started it around the trun of the twntieth century. I don''t mind the Rugby League strip, but as I say, that looks nothing like the Rugby Union version -- thank goodness.
