We where in strange territory last night.Has Australian politics changed forever. The emergence of the Teals, climate 200+Greens challenging inner city seats.
The sabre rattling on Sky News Radio last night.Blaming John Howard,Tony Abbott+Scott Morrison. For kicking all the centre right politicians out of the Liberal party. The last to leave where Pyne,Turnbull+J Bishop. And there all now Teal MP's,that faction.
Labor done ok to almost hold there primary vote. And should win enough seats to govern in there own Right.History tells us Labor only govern when things get tough.
tough.
Curtin WW2 and a Japanese invasion.
Whitlam a fuel and energy crisis.
Hawk+Keating a total restructure of the Australian economy.
Rudd with a Global financial crisis.
Albo China, Pandemic,Rising inflation and interest rates.
If Labor can stear us through the next 3 years..The LNP might be on the outer for a long time.
McGowan Factor..Time will tell how he goes in the future..But he's now fixed up the LNP in two state and now one federal election.

Looks like WA is the king maker. Labor secured a majority government with 77 seats with 4 seats still in doubt. Maybe that could grow.

Hopefully Albo can lure McGowan into Canberra. 😂

I noticed DD's mate Clive didn't do very well. $100m spent and not a single seat in either houses to show for it although he probably doesn't care too much as the Chinese paid for it.

Interesting that Ben Morton, one of the defeated WA Liberals has stated that the popularity of Mcgowan was a significant factor in the swing against the party in WA. Morrison was electoral poison in WA because he sided with Palmer during the pandemic and kept on backtracking on lies that he had told.  People don't forget that sort of stuff. Most voters appreciate a leader who is strong but also a bit humble. Morrison is neither of these as he showed in his angry chest thumping "concession" speech last night.
The Liberals need to decide whether they are going to embrace the new political landscape and discard all the neandrathals of the National Party and their own right wing or alternatively lurch further into conservative ground and become irrelevant.
It may be that a 3rd political party might emerge out of the genesis of the Teal independants.

Not in WA but his party polled quite well elsewhere in the country BC. He attracted 1.8% of voters in WA that’s not too bad considering.

Sore loser - we've just got rid of our own Trump !!!

Almost as sore as labour after the 2019 "unlosable" election.

We now have our own Sleepy Joe!!

The Nats may by full of dinosaurs but they held on to all their seats. It was the moderate Libs that took the hit, mainly to the Teals, unfortunately Mr Potato head Dutton survived as did many of his far right mates. I dont think labour can be too excited with the result, when was the last time a party took government with just over 30% of the primary vote, the flipside of that is that nearly 70% of voters didn't vote for Lab, but the massive vote for the Greens and indo's got them the gig.

I wish Albo all the best but it will be a hard grind either way, if he gets 76 in the lower he'll still be dealing with 17 cross benchers in the Senate, all with their own separate and narrow agendas.

You would have voted for Adam BumBandit's party wouldn't you Bond Girl? In case you losers haven't noticed it's been an election with the lowest primary vote in history for the majors. Yeh, LMFAO. I voted for the winner as my first preference. Winner Winner chicken dinner.

And my vote helped the Labor candidate get up in my electorate.
