I see our very good friend Comrade 42 is now showing as a "visitor".  What does that mean?  I hope he's not planning on visiting from the eastern states coz he won't be able to get in.

Yes it is and what a great place it is where you can speak freely about practically anything. But he was different, he is a self obsessed Labor man and contributed nothing to debates. Spot on DG, now let's get this back on topic and put the spotlight back on Mr McGoo. We are just days away from 80% fully vaxed. The QLD Premier has shown she has got a bigger set of nuts than McGoo by opening up the borders and vowing never to close them again.

McGoo said when we reach 80% he will set a date. Put your house on it it won't be anytime in January, most likely he'll string us along to suit himself.

He'll make the announcement when we get to 80% double vax, but any opening date he proposes will still be subject to his pie in the sky 90% double vax, so it wont be a set in stone date, we may not get to 90% until next July!!!
My guess is he will bring in graduated conditions where you can enter with approved 7 days home iso and a test every 72 hours or the like. But he's still shite scared that our clusterfuck of a health system will collapse if there is any community spread. Heard an interview on ABC from a health expert on the new omricron variant that it's starting to take over from Delta but evidence so far is that it's not as severe, no hospital cases, but while milder, it may be more easily transmissible. So if it's no where near as sever as Delta, there's no reason not to open up as it will not put much pressure if any on the hospital system.

IMO he's shit scared to open up before the next federal election. If we get a heap of infections and our hospitals go under due to lack of preparation he'll go from State Daddy to WA's most wanted. A large outbreak and resulting deaths will certainly impact on his popularity and Labor's overall.

That's the way I see it, it will be some drawn out pie in the sky target, with no firm Qld style date - he will have a back out lockdown and border closure clause as a card to play and will not rule them out, due to the clusterF of a health system.

We are only on 77% double vaxed, and with the Xmas break coming up that will slow down big time, so we are miles off target for early next year.

We could be looking at masks again., crowd restrictions, all the way to July.
