Article in the West this morning confirm that channel seven will not broadcast West Perth games this year. The fixtures have been released. Seven have also said that they don't know what will happen if West Perth make the finals. Also this an interesting read. au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sport/a/264604...ef-loses-court-case/

Yeah both stories are just a sick joke - geez employing a thief as a C.O.O and then backing him to the hilt over & above one of their own foundation clubs

Hmmm seems we have about 8 topics on this subject now :(
Will just put a post on here from SAME topic on another thread

Agree Red and Blue it is a load of shit. For crying out loud the ABC is not allowed to advertise yet at every sporting even including WAFL the sponsers signs are everywhere. So why didnt the ABC make the clubs cover all sponsership signs? Yeh because it is ridiculous. All the other club sponsers paying 7 BECAUSE there signs and jumper logo's will be seen?? Definately not!!! We are looking at 100,000 a year from 9 which in the context of WAFL clubs a huge income.

Lets be honest I dont even see the 9 Logo on the jumpers at the games and when I watch on TV.. How many people do? We are interested in the Game and the players.
I appreciate Channel 9's video's and coverage.. I was wrapped when watching State of origin Rugby last year and they had the WP advertisement on a couple of times
Something the WAFC is not interested in is advertising WAFL and never have in the last few years.

So bottom line if channel 7 doesnt do WP games they are guilty of unfair trading practices I am sure a couple of other govt regulations come into practice.. I am sure the ACCC could get involved EG this is their charter

Regulating & monitoring national infrastructure
We regulate and monitor industries where there is limited competition to protect and strengthen market processes. Working with all stakeholders, we strive to ensure compliance, transparency and fair outcomes.

and the ACCC responsibilities which must put Channel 7 AND THE WAFC outside of these
conditions

The ACCC promotes competition and fair trade in markets to benefit consumers, businesses, and the community. We also regulate national infrastructure services. Our primary responsibility is to ensure that individuals and businesses comply with Australian competition, fair trading, and consumer protection laws - in particular the Competition and Consumer Act 2010.

But having said all that the WAFC are making a mountain out a mole hill
Lets have a leadership spill and get rid of Cooper LOL..

I cant believe this guy Cooper is still there... and he got an Order of Australia award as well

The whole thing is a total joke. How can channel seven claim that they are providing coverage for the WAFL when they are not providing any broadcasts of one particular team. A shambles which once more reflects poorly on the WAFC and its management skills.

Someone else has asked the question of West Perth's contribution of the 8 grand, per club towards the broadcasting cost. And should West Perth now be asked to contribute. The answer should be no. The Falcons have every right to put their marketing money back in their pocket. However that will be up to West Perth's decision.
Remembering saunter previously said, "telecasts of games as crucial to the competition's profile and to the opportunities for clubs to market themselves."
Obviously not caring West Perth receive no exposure and no telecasts to market themselves.
He then goes onto say, "The best possible opportunity for the players to get exposure and the competition and clubs to flourish is by having maximum exposure and maximum marketing opportunities." Obviously does not include West Perth in that flourish and maximum exposure.
Easy to see Wafl will not be televised from every venue, as was previously stated.
Begs the question of what happens when West Perth play in the Finals? Will their Finals matches be broadcast? If not, does it put the whole broadcast deal at risk?
With each Wafl telecast costing approx. 43 grand, will the broadcaster be forced to repay that cost for not televising a West Perth Final? If not, why not?
This whole broadcast deal stinks to the extreme, and the bloody season hasn't even started yet.

More to that - there needs some answers as to how certain candidates are identified & ratified as candidates for election to the commission

Pretty obvious this current commission is hostile to the G7 clubs & I read yesterday that Mandurah made no payment off their debt (that currently stands at $300000.00) in 2014 , then announce that they're back in the black - how has this been let to happen ???

And now we find they've hired a thief and support him on it saying "it happened a fair while ago & his current position isn't related"

Seriously ??????

I am aware of how the Commissioners are elected and it has been covered extensively on other topics.. Suffice to say the WAFL clubs get very little say and the AFL clubs a lot.
Even if the WAFL clubs voted unanimously they votes would hold little weight.
Look it up or google it.

I also am aware of the method used to select the WAFC officers. My point is that if you are dependent on the votes of the AFL clubs then it would seem quite remarkable if not totally unbelievable that the WAFC would make decisions to support the WAFL competition in direct defiance of the wishes of its masters. The most outstanding example of this is the host club alignment which is patently against the best interests of the WAFL competition.

How does one explain the extraordinary profit of the club formerly known as East Perth; particularly in the context of a 15% drop in attendances to their home games last season? There is only one possible explanation.

Here is an idea swan. Why don't you go over to the EPFC and ask them where their profit came from in season 2014?

If they have nothing to hide, you never know your luck and that would save time speculating on this Forum.
